In The Bleak Midwinter is a beautiful traditional Christmas carol. The song is based on the 19th century poem "A Christmas Carol" by Christina Rossetti. This a cappella barbershop quartet arrangement of Bleak Mid-winter was written by Burt Szabo ; it can be sung by a choir as well. In the Bleak Mid Winter is quoted throughout the Peaky Blinders TV series. This song is widely performed by choirs, and was named the best Christmas carol in a poll of some of the world's leading choirmasters and choral experts in 2008.

My wife says you wore a similar zip sweater when you sang Champs-Elysees a few years back, maybe even the same one. That tells you something, Julien, as only someone who's watched your videos an inordinate number of times would notice a detail like that. (She's also a patron.) When I was in the fifth grade, our band director took away our arrangement of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and had us learn this instead. At the time, we all despised it -- why would we want a slow, sad song at Christmastime?! But now I love the song. So beautiful. And your rendition is perfect!

Gorgeous arrangement of the Holst version, but I think you'll find the version that was named best in the poll of choirmasters and conductors was the Darke version, which is also gorgeous!
