Reminds me of a (sadly) aborted 5e campaign I was participating in based on Smash Ultimate. One of my fellow players decided to build Ganondorf as a hybrid sorcerer/warlock, and had him making a pact with Demise to protect artifacts hidden deep within the Gerudo desert from Hylians who would foolishly seek them out and potentially destroy the world, only for Demise to slowly start overwhelming his will. I actually had a mental image of him gritting his teeth while cooperating with the Links, Sheik, and Zelda, not out of genuine hatred, but out of a struggle to ignore Demise's repeated demands to kill all of them.

After listening to this song from the video, I can see Ganondorf’s motive falling into place, all he ever wished was protect his people. He gained the royal family’s trust and everything was going to plan only to have it all crumble to the ground. Because of the actions of Link, not only did he lose the king’s trust, he lost everything because of Link. That hatred would only grow, as we can see in Botw and even Tears of the Kingdom. He’s willing to go to massive lengths to take the land for himself even if it takes destroying it and all the people in it.

Remember, they awoke Ganondorf from his subterranean imprisonment after 10k years, but the Calamity Ganon ravaging Hyrule castle 100 years prior severely weakened the Seal that Rauru made it to ultimately be. Calamity Ganon awakening sooner than King Rhoam prophesized broke that seal, and allowed his hatred for the Royal Family and Link, a la Gloom, to start seeping upwards onto the surface to begin propagating all over hyrule

I’ve only recently realized Ganon is a Lich King at this point. The line from Zelda at the end was mistranslated and what Ganon actually did was find a way to cheat death to gain greater power, in Age of Calamity we find out that not only can he possess others bodies and revive the dead but he can also eat souls. One person even theorized he isn’t forcefully sealed and he did it on his own as part of his Undead Ritual to live eternally. If any of this sounds like Rasputin then good on you for picking it up because it’s almost shot for shot the exact same plan.

He’s A Demon Gods hatred manifested, hatred directed towards Hylians specifically. Even in Wind Waker the world was being flooded because of Gabon’s hatred and jealousy of Hylians. Even in a cut death dialogue in Twilight Princess he says that his hate will cycle and he’ll be born once more to destroy Hyrule and that this Hyrules History will be written in Blood. It’s just pure hatred and hatred built up to a supernatural level.

A detail I like is when Ganondorf uses his malice magic it looks as if he’s using his own blood with how it’s shaded even Calamity Ganon looks as if he is just made of blood as he cuts the image of Hyrule it looks as if it is bleeds as well as when he puts the malice on the painting of the king and queen the magic runs down as it is blood flowing down and as he creates the image of the champions falling to the blights it looks as if he stabs his hands with how sharp his fingernails are

The dark history of the Romanoffs and Rasputin being etched into the Zelda storyline make this alternate telling, gut wrenching. The stakes feel higher. The dread of being chased by a fate you cannot escape. And then you get to the last chapter. The final stand. The fight to end it all. There's comfort knowing that it's a video game, and you can restart the checkpoint. But you'll never get that rush of adrenaline/anxiety ever again. The feeling of, "If I choke, make one wrong move, it's all over."

Long Post: trust me I'm going somewhere. So I always imagined that the way the Blights were made was that Ganon sent a bit of malice to each divine beast which then pieced together Sheikah Tech to make their forms. The forms in Age of Calamity were actually the original way they looked, but after Zelda sealed Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle, the Blights fell apart and over the 100 years the tech they used to form fell off each of the Divine Beasts and caused them to go dormant without a pilot. However, as Zelda's seal faltered he was able to reform them and send them out and retake control of the Divine Beasts. All this to say I wish the "Rise my minions, rise for your master" was a shot of each Blight reforming after 100 years.

Especially the part where it said my powers are slowly coming back, like in TotK he was revitalized and back to reign terror on Hyrule to get princess zelda. With this power Link's trying everything he can do to protect zelda no matter if he gets wounded. Honestly fit perfectly how the memories tell the story. One thing to point out how Ganondorf is part of the story of this video amazing, okay yeah as what we see we didn't see him there in BOTW 1 but this just tells a great tale even the song, perfect!
