[UNFINISHED] In The Dark Of The Night | DecayStalker AU (Wings of Fire AMV)

Decided to post this as I haven't touched it in months and I do not think I will finish it. As much as I would have liked it finished, I have mostly moved on from wings of fire and will not be posting much WoF instead I will focus on OCs, Trigun, and my obligations (MAPs, YCHs, etc).
Still, despite moving on from WoF for the most part I do like most of the work I had done on this AMV. It was going to be my largest project, it took me several months to get it even halfway done despite daily work. I simply got burned out. I learned lots from working on it.
As for the AU itself these are the old notes I had written down:
"So basically while darkstalker was under the mountain for 2000+ years his body slowly decayed/was picked by scavenging animals and he comes out zombie-like but because of all his self-enchantments he is still alive just hideous. I'm sure people have had similar ideas before and I just haven’t seen them. This is just my take. Darkstalker is way more vengeful in this AU.
Also Turtle in the AU is literally just Fathom reincarnated kinda like…. Y'know in Warrior Cats the whole Cinderheart-Cinderpelt situation? Still his own person and character but sometimes has memories of past lives. Ya.
In fact all of the animus dragons reincarnate… like it is part of their abilities? Even if they recollect no memories or behavior etc?

I failed to revise properly from my exams, so whenever I got a question I couldn't answer I wrote a dumb note on the test. For example : I couldn't draw a tangent, so I hoped a tangerine sketch would suffice.

The concept of a darkstalker who has actually gone over the edge, and is unapologetically evil is a concept I want to explore.

Yeah, Darkstalker’s always been that one villain that has like… a reason to be a villain, instead of just being an evil or jealous or power hungry fool. Like he was just a tool to his Queen back in his day, and his father hated him, and yeah the Darkstalker book is out anyone can read it. But he always retained some shred of his humanity. Even at the very end he was like “but I’m not *evil*, right?” So I feel like a Darkstalker that just gave in and decided, “you know what? Maybe I’ll be evil” would be… extremely interesting. Maybe I just have a problem with the ending to the tenth book, but I personally would’ve liked them to lean further into Darkstalker’s story. Either give him some sort of true redemption or let him lay to rest honestly (that way he’d never have to forget his friends. I was kind of sad that as Peacemaker he would have forgotten about his old friends), or let him see where his path of evil could truly take him. But it’s a “kids” book, so even though Glory can melt a dragons face off and the Nightwings and Hivewings can have slavery and Burn and Scarlet can exist, nah Darkstalker has to have some goofy ending. Idk, maybe I’m biased. Young Darkstalker is my favorite character, at least in his book before he starts going evil. I wonder what his life could have been like if he went down one of those good futures. Lot of unused potential in Darkstalker’s story

Holy moly, still even if it’s unfinished it’s absolutely phenomenal and you weren’t the only one who saw Darkstalker as this living corpse with flesh and bone exposed (real nightmare material). Excellent song choice too, loved that movie a lot when I was younger, I always pictured IceWings having a general Slavic (and Scandinavian) vibe to them so this just fits Darkstalker evermore. Even if you’re taking a massive step away from WoF content (because wow, some people are mind bogglingly rude). I support you in your endeavors! I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next be it OC, or trigun (which I have to watch but it’s so hard finding a service that’s not funimation or crunchy roll frowns), or hell even sh/tposts. I like and enjoy your art regardless if it’s dragons, wof, humans, whichever. Bit of long comment but hey what can ya do.
