Take a ride in a Walker Railmotor made in 1951 for the Victorian Railways. We see the driver driving the railmotor as well as viewing the engine room and the beautiful scenery of the central highlands in Victoria, Australia. April 2024.

My special needs son really likes railmotors like that one he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service carrying both passengers and mail on lines that are not used anymore or don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of historic railmotors and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them.

My parents owned a fish & chip shop in Daylesford from 1971 to 1975 & I was born in 1970. We then moved to Sunshine & my parents still regret the move considering how cheap property was in Daylesford in the 1970's. We were very good friends with a very well know family I can't spell the surname but Peter the father was the Station master at Daylesford until the station closed. At his funeral back in 2007 half of Daylesford turned out. We travelled back & forth from Sunshine to Daylesford by train in the 70's. I remember catching these rail cars from Sunshine Station & sitting beside the driver all way to Daylesford & remember all the kangaroos jumping the track whilst going through Wombat State Forest. Then we had a catch train to Woodend then the rail car from Woodend to Daylesford then soon after the line closed. Go back to Daylesford at least twice a year remember the old shop & kindergarten I went too. 50 years ago where have the years gone. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Cheers Louis Kats 👍

The train runs from Daylesford to Bullarto on the tourist railway. A distance of about 7 miles. 👍😀

The constant "clickety-clack" must mean the track is "Pioneer" class line laid in 20 foot sections? Nice clean and tidy engine room too. Lush green country side, a beautiful part of Australia.

The track is predominantly 60lb 22ft lengths of rail which gives that original branch line feel. Very happy you enjoyed the ride 😀 👍
