Ah yes, the song that makes me feel like the main villain of the anime while I'm revising for physics.

I totally missed the “you’re the snakes but this is my venom” parallel, that’s so awesome!

Dream post-prison arc was absolutely bone chilling to me and this song did a fantastic job of conveying that menace in a very subtle ways. And listening to you guys discuss it and disect it made the menace so much more real, really pulled it forward. I have a whole new appreciation for the song now.

Ah, more reminders of how much I love this song. I remember being a little worried for a brief period because we had all these great ideas, but we just couldn’t get them to synergize into anything really good. But all that careful planning really paid off in the end (lol)! Much as I love them all, I really think this is one of the most unique and creative songs in the album, and I never get tired of it! That being said, I’m SO excited for the finale next week! There’s so much to say, and we’ve waited so long!

Was this song written before the final ending of the SMP? If so it captures the longing for the simpler time of just Dream hanging out with his friends that Tommy discovers through his second trip through limbo in the finale. Arrangement wise this is still in the prison break or just after but chronologically speaking, he never gets the revenge he wishes on Tommy. Wilbur returns to convince Dream to burn the fake disks, ending the conflict. Then for the finale Tommy gets his revenge by nuking the Prison but also the entire server, both of which could be considered Dream’s home, and ending the story on the same note it started on. Speaking on the biblical references, God is also referred to as the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. Dream sees himself as God and is the only person who can summon the god that is DreamXD. Techno remarks on this in the prison that it’s strange that God looks exactly like Dream, to which he has no response. It also matches with Wilbur’s Limbo as the train is conducted by a person who looks like Dream but could be DreamXD.

Absolutely begging you to continue to work with those older verses of In the End even if they wind up a little janky, because those are some incredibly cool lyrics.
