Easy answer of why the Aeldari don't reclaim their lost territories, lack of numbers. Slaanesh transforms a good chunk of consumed souls into servants like the Daemonettes while the rest are used as Her powerbase, and the lore discrepancies is what you get if you try to cram in the most current models in but you can easily just handwave it all into independent Aeldari faction that doesn't follow the banner of Eldrad or Yvraine's Ynnari (Mix of all Aeldari factions including Drukhari that follow the rising Ynnead) getting Xenocided into the ground.

It's not that difficult to invade a Craftworld. The hard part is tracking it down and harder still to successfully besiege it. Those things are so well defended that it's actually incredible this Imperial task force succeeded with only Astartes-Knights-Titans where even larger forces failed. For an example, the Chaos Invasion of Corsair Craftworld of Lugganath(Light of the Fallen Sun with the symbol being the Black Sun) aligned with the Harlequins of Cegorach where the forces of the Emperor's Children gathered an army of Cultists, Pirates and other Warbands to work together after Fabius Bile managed to steal the memories of a Eldar Corsair using a mind leech. They stealthily approached the Craftworld using a Noise Marine Song of Slaanesh long enough to surround it with their forces, fodder shield their Eldar airforce long enough for the Emperor's Children to drown their anti-air defense and defense fleet with Astartes drop pods and boarding craft to breach the hulls. They've got hundreds of Astartes with a whole heap of other troops to meatshield their advance, squads of Chaos Dreadnoughts, hundreds of Slaaneshi Daemons including a Keeper of Secrets(Summoned by a Word Bearer Apocathery in Fabius Bile's team of Chaos-Renegade Apocatheries from the same organization he leads full of them, one of the most notable ones is a chill and surprisingly rare calm/sane Zen World Eater.), all of it supplemented with teleportation arrays in the Craftworld plaza for constant reinforcements when the hull breaches got sealed by Aeldari defenders. All of that and Chaos still lost against the minor barely mentioned Craftworld in a Chaos saga of novels featuring Fabius Bile of the Emperor's Children. The invasion leader the Radiant King in His Joyful Repose(Kasperos Telmar one of Fulgrim's 7 Astartes that accompanied him in pacifying Byzas during the Great Crusade) got cut down by Aeldari Warlocks and Harlequins when he's busy guzzling down Spirit Stones to transform into a Daemon Prince and the Keeper of Secrets kept at by the Harlequins engaging it in a deadly dance in the Wraithbone Garden. The second the Aeldari were forced to unleash their aerial superweapon, Chaos immediately called for a retreat after the Emperor's Children spy for the Aeldari Harlequins played his hand just before the activation. The Hemlock Wraithfighter's which are powered by Spiritseers and are a forbidden weapon that breaks their tradition as the act is spoken in hushed tones where it pertains to their religion where it blends the psychic ability of its Spiritseer pilot multiplied many times over with the energies of the Eldar dead channeled through Spirit Stones in its Wraithbone core that functions as a miniature Infinity Circuit. The spirits within the Hemlock's hull can even operate the craft's on a basic level if the Spiritseer is incapacitated. Think the Ordo Sinister of the Imperium but the Aeladri version where it fires an invisible blast that rips the soul of the targets straight out of their bodies and disrupt the soulless. A weapon strong enough to sever the Synaptic link between Tyranids and their Hive Mind as well as scramble the engrams of the Necrons that link their Warriors to their Lords. All in all the Eldar are scary and if not for the Imperial bias, conflicts against them will be infinitely more costly.
