I’m so sorry to hear this. The pain of losing a father is so hard! I lost my father to cancer almost 6 months ago. This hymn was one of his favorites and he requested it played at his funeral. My dear friend, who was like a second grandmum to me passed late last week on Thursday March 9, 2023. She requested that a friend we both share play In The Garden at her funeral, and knowing how well I sing, she once made the passing request that I be the one to sing it. How inspiring the old hymns are that draws our soul into the very presence of Jesus. I'm in my sixties and remember them well from my youth at church. I can't help but weep for being touched by Yeshua. Only he can move within our soul by the precious Holy Spirit and bring us into the inner sanctuary of his heart. As a child I was terrified by this song which my grandmother would sing as we passed by the cemetery. Now as an adult, I feel the beauty of the song which incidentally was played and sung at a funeral 24 March 2022. One could absolutely feel the closeness of God as it was played.

I love this song, and you do such a wonderful job singing it! It became even more special to me in January 2006, when my grandfather had been in the hospital, and we knew he was dying. On the day he passed away, before he died, my mom and aunt sang this in his hospital room. That came to mind this morning, and I had to hear it. So thankful I found you singing it! What a day it will be when we’re walking hand in hand in heaven with our Savior!!! God bless you!

I remember this hymn from my growing up. Then, when I was 32, my beloved aunt, who shared my first name, died of breast cancer at age 60. This was sung at her funeral. It still brings tears even after 41 years.
