I grew up listening to this Hymn and always liked it. Then, 2 days before I turned 20, my little brother was murdered, we sang this at his funeral. That was 48 years ago, and I still get chills up my spine every time I hear it!

KJV Psalms 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? KJV Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. KJV Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. KJV 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: There's a lot more scriptures to back up that our dead love one's are in the grave until Christ shall come and call them forth if they were faithful unto death.
