The comments.....between the comments here and on the extended intro are the entire reason why I'm obsessed with "In The Heights" because it gives representation for our people that isn't: house maid, house keeping, gang banger, dead beat dad, druggie, cartel member, or pregnant without a baby daddy. This is a solid 2 hour positive representation of our people....doesn't matter if we are from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina.....we are all one people that survived Taino genocide, slave ships, conquistadors, etc. This is what our people need......FLY YOUR BANDERAS!!!!! @@hiphipjorge5755 sadly, we haven’t reached that point yet. When I was maybe 14? I wore a hat with a flag on it (I’d got it on holiday and never thought anything of it) it was a hot day, had grabbed it to wear to the beach. I got a glass bottle thrown at me by a stranger and he started yelling names at me. We where two young girls at the beach who didn’t want to get sunburnt. Personally, I don’t care at all anymore, and it’s the same with a lot of young people now, but there’s always some… I never realised we where studied in the US though, I always kinda felt like the rest of the world forgot about us after the Troubles ended. I’m glad that there’s now shows like Derry girls that show how it effects all the kids who aren’t involved. It’s good to know that people in other places still remember.

Seeing this seen brought so much joy to my heart. They casted this so perfectly. Even though it’s not exactly like the play it’s still perfect

It would be so cool and surreal if they included a scene where new yorker hear a song, far away but powerful.

Anyone else notice how daniella was kinda dressed like rosie the riveter in this scene? She was a hugee image of female and latinx empowerment for her community in this movie!

Even though my flag wasn't the most visible, I and most likely plenty of other Ecuadorians appreciate that our flag was included since we aren't the biggest and most well known country

I saw it and it made me smile to see it up there. I had to pause the video and really look, but so nice to see my little country represented! I can’t wait to see this movie.
