Swedish people who make it in the US do iit ALL the time I've noticed. Same with the Skarsgård family. They pronounce it "Skarsgaard" when introducing themselves to american audiences. It's a strange phenomenon.

I love basketball and another one that really annoys me is Americans pronouncing Jakob Pöltl! The commentators say "PURTLE" like rhymes with an American saying turtle. Most of them put a really strong emphasis on the (non-existent) R sound. Like "PuRRtle". Jakob is Austrian... and having been to Germany and Austria I know for certain an 'O' with an umlaut is not pronounced "URRR"?!?!
