Bonds attitude towards women during Craig's run makes perfect sense after setting up why he's like that in Casino Royale. He fell in love. He felt betrayed by his love and then lost her. His calluses for the rest of the series feels more justified because of that. Classic Bond womanizing was just because 007 liked to bang broads. Craig's 007 womanizing feels like a response to trauma.

Well, remember, in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service(1969), Bond got married, but then his wife got shot by Blofeld in a drive-by. He cuts off Anya’s listing of his dossier in The Spy Who Loved Me when she says that he was “married once, wife killed”(“all right, you’ve made your point”) and he visits Tracy’s grave with flowers in the beginning of For Your Eyes Only. As far as the Classic timeline goes, Bond still has a soft spot for the one woman he loved more than anyone else.

friend of mine was his bodyguard for the scenes in the alps in Spectre, and he said Craig is super nice, down to earth and he told me one anecdote. When they shot in the mountains the time of shooting depended on the weather, so sometimes they had days when everything got cancelled within the hour cause a storm showed up. Craig, kinda annoyed that he had to idle, told him that he wanted to go into town, walk around and grab a coffee. This usually meant that he had to call that in, get the whole caravan of bodyguards and cars, but Craig was like nope, were not doing that, just you and me buddy. Put on a big ol winter hat, sun glasses and walked around some small town, where people knew James Bond was being filmed, yet none the wiser he was walking among them haha. And Craig was really interested in him and afterwards thanked him for doing this off the books so to say.

Longing to have his heart filled but knowing he will never have it. I didn't like Craig at first but now he is by far the best. Connery was the ultimate screen candy and in the early days was what we wanted a Bond to be. Craig is exactly what a real Bond would likely be. He interviews about Bond a little like he plays him - this brashness, contempt, hurried feel to these questions. Craig is my favorite Bond because I read two of Fleming’s books and I think Craig’s performance is truest plus showed a great arc through the five films (I was crying at the end of the last one). If you think this is just how Craig is- watch him do an interview for another film and you’ll see a different side. He’s doing that interview with James Bond’s brashness (watch the way he flips each card to the floor and is dismissive of the bad questions) and it’s really cool to see.

The bond actor he resembles the most is Dalton. He was a ahead of his time when he chose to play the part how it was written in the books. I loved him both the living daylights and license to kill. I don’t think Craig could have done Bond the same way like Connery, lazenby, Moore or Brosnan. They were all good but all had many similar aspects to the role. After the borne identity movies it wouldn’t make sense to go back to that kind of Bond. Dalton and Craig will be two of my favorites to play Bond.

I know that he has had a love/hate relationship with the role but I have loved him in the role and I am 100% sure that he could do at least another Bond. He is in incredible shape and has just continued to grow in the role. I know it is not going to happen and I know this was meant to be his send off but really, think about doing another. I am 68 and maybe have only another one or two Bond movies in my life. I would love for it to be Mr. Craig. Deborah

I like that CraIg's films have been less self parodies than the previous films. More real and raw like the original Connery films, although I liked Pierce Brosnan as an actor in his films. Brosnan's corny lines and the outrageous special effects of his films are a little over the top for me to watch now. I didn't really like the "Deus Ex Machina" aspect of Bond's gadgets. Can Q look forward in time to know exactly what gadget Bond will need? I think the Mission Impossible series does this a lot better. Not only are they going in with what they think they will need rather than having a time machine, often they glitch like you would expect a one off gadget to tend to do. The Parkour scenes in Casino Royale are great. My favorite, though, is the helicopter fight in Spectre. One of the best fight sequences of any film, I think. Looking forward to being able to watch "No Time to Die" a week early in Europe before flying back to the United States.

Let's not mince words: when it comes to cinematic excellence, Sean Connery stands at the pinnacle. His rendition of James Bond is not just iconic; it's the gold standard against which all others are measured. Connery's Bond is suave, sophisticated, and undeniably cool, embodying the essence of Ian Fleming's creation like no other. Yet, as much as we adore Connery's portrayal, it's essential to acknowledge that the true depth of Bond's character is found within the pages of Fleming's novels. While Connery came close to capturing Fleming's vision, the full breadth of Bond's complexity can only be appreciated by immersing oneself in the original literary works. Like many, my perception of Bond was primarily shaped by the cinematic adaptations. However, upon delving into Fleming's writings, I discovered a world of intrigue and nuance that transcends the silver screen. Through audiobook renditions of Fleming's novels, I embarked on a journey of the imagination, where Bond's adventures unfolded in vivid detail, far exceeding the confines of the cinema. In hindsight, I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience Fleming's Bond in all his literary glory. It's a testament to the power of storytelling and the enduring legacy of a character who continues to captivate audiences across generations. So, to those who, like myself, have yet to explore Bond beyond the movies, I urge you to indulge in the auditory feast of Ian Fleming's works. You'll find that the true essence of Bond is far richer and more compelling than anything the silver screen can offer.
