I saw my first Moto Guzzi in 1973 and have been interested ever since. In the mid 90's I wanted a Moto Guzzi Califoirnia, but never got one. Then in 2009 they came out with the "new" V7 and I fell in love. I've wanted one ever since. My friend bought a blue V7 Special from the Throttle Co. about a month ago. And I finnally made it to the Throttke Co. two weeks ago. I sat on a gray V7 Special and I must say, I have never sat on any motorcycle that felt like it was customed made to fit me until then. The V7 felt light off the stand, the seat height was low enough for me (I have a short inseam) the reach to the bars was very comfortable, when I placed my feet on the pegs, my knees were tucked in just behind the bulges in the fuel tank, and the seat was the most confortable motorcycle seat I have ever say on. I would have bought the gray V7 Special that day if I could, but my wife always rides with me and she walks with a walker these days and can't climb on a two wheeled motorcycle. A two wheeler would fall over if she tried and I don't see her ever getting better . She can however climb on a trike. So we have to ride a trike. But if I could I would own a Moto Guzzi V7 SPecial. Thanks Dylan for the ride in the loop. The Throttle Co. has a large selction of Moto Guzzis and Royal Enfields if any one is interested. They are serious about the motocycle business.

This bike feels so good to ride: So planted, so effortless so fun in the twisties and it rolls down a country road like nothing else I have ridden , in comfort. I can ride much further and really enjoy the ride without being even slightly tired; and I'm in my 70's. Wonderful bike. My new favourite of all time.

Really enjoyed that, thanks. Guzzis are just so different to ride, old or new. They are chock-full of "brio" (panache) and "grinta" (grit) as the Italians say -- they always bring a smile to my face. 100 mph around the Oxford ring road in the early hours of the morning back in the late 80s on a red and black 850 Le Mans is up there as one of the best experiences of my life.

Why so slow? I had a silver Le Mans in Oxford then, best bike ever. The only problem was losing pillion riders at traffic lights until I fitted a T3 grab rail.

I have a 2010 Moto Guzzi v7 Classic and it’s certainly Italian. A bit of drama with a lot of character, but plenty of sexiness and a macho manly persona to it. These new 850’s are truly gorgeous and that 6th gear is a huge feature to have. On mine at 70mph it’s somewhere around 4k in 5th gear. Moto guzzis love to rev so really not a big deal (they love to live above 4k). That 6th gear would just make it that much more relaxing. And the exhaust note on a Moto Guzzi with a lafranconi or mistral exhaust…sounds a built small block Chevy engine. Truly wicked

I had a 2017 V7iii Special for about a year. Fun bike. I sold it to buy a 64 Triumph 650 a local guy was selling. The V7iii was very smooth at certain RPMS but a little rough at others, like if I was going up hill at certain RPMS, it had an odd feel to it... hard to explain. When I first got it I thought "is this how it's supposed to feel or is something wrong with this bike?" I haven't ridden another one, so I had nothing to compare it to. The dealership near me seemed ok from my one interaction.... but they didn't have the best reputation, which made me nervous. (I did the basic maintenance myself.)

They liked to be revved, especially on hills. You may have been lugging.
@Deetroiter10 ай бұрын
They love to live at 4k and above. If you’re anywhere below 3, you’re pretty much lugging it. The bike is talking to you, just listen to it.

I believe the confusion here is that the tires are rated as "tubeless" but the wheels are not airtight and cannot be run without a tube regardless of the tire rating.

Hello! I really liked your video. I have a question for you, is it possible to service MG without having a dealer, it's just that these are so unique and distinctive bikes that I just don't see an alternative to them? For more than a hundred years, bikes have been produced at the same factory, almost manually, who can "boast" about it now. Thanks!
@throttlecompany Жыл бұрын
The easiest way to answer this is yes, you can perform 100% of the mechanical service on your own. But, you need the dealer computer to turn of the wrench icon reminder for service. I know this is annoying to some.
@tgs8459 Жыл бұрын
@@throttlecompany And if it doesn't annoy me?

@throttlecompany2 жыл бұрын
Lucky you! There are 2 good options right now: prep on a V7 is about $400, right now Piaggio/ we are combining to cover $750, so that covers that. Option 2 is we just got a used V7 Centenario with 500 miles, so there wouldn’t be prep or shipping on that one!

Classic motorcycles are kind of for the old crowd. Not exactly made for American highways. The only reason I would go for one is because I'm 72. Harley Davidson is an old man's bike. Because you have to be an old man to afford one. 😉
