Hey there. I'm 55 years old and just got back into riding this year since 1996. I own a Stryker 1300, a Vulcan 1500, and a 1986 Honda Elite 250 scooter, which gets 75% of my attention as a grocery getter, but I have this ITCH to ride a Royal Enfield so badly ! Royal Enfield bikes are SO gorgeous. They look like $15k bikes.

I was very sad to hear of OlManRonin passing earlier this year . I took delivery of a Supernova Brown Meteor350 just weeks before Jeff left us . His videos were the catalyst for my purchase , so now I have gone ahead and fitted a givi rack and am waiting to purchase the saddlebags from Longride . I don't usually name my bikes but considering the circumstances I have named him Rootbeer Ronin !!!! Keep up the good work , cheers to You and Jeff from Australia !!!!

But I think he would have been please you posted this while showing the Super Meteor given how much he enjoyed all of his RE's. Another great video! Thank you for introducing us to this new Meteor!

You’re right, Jeff would have loved it! I found cruise control pretty useless until I got the BMW RT. It has adaptive cruise control. When the car in front of you slows, the bike slows to match. Probably prohibitively expensive on a bargain bike like the Super Meteor. The real advantage of upside down forks is the thick, stiff part is mounted to the triple clamp. That makes the whole fork stronger. Less flex. I like the green on the Super!

The Jewel of the Fleet should of course have had something better than chain drive. A belt would have been obvious and shouldn't add much to the cost. Apart from that it's a very nice bike. Sorry to hear about Ronin. I used to watch his videos, and he was among those who convinced me to get a Himalayan.

The 47hp limit for Learner riders also applies in Australia it’s called Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme - LAMS (it is also a power to weight and cc system so under 650cc and no light bikes with that 47hp). In the UK and Europe it’s called the A2 Licence system.

Still waiting for local dealer (Tulsa) to get the 650 S.M. in. I fear the front foot controls are a little too far forward, and too high (for me.) I love the foot placement on my 350 Meteor. Rumour has it R.E. will make a 650 Classic style machine. THAT bike will be the schizzle! 😉

I though I would need to modify the controls, particularly the brake pedal. As it turns out, the controls are perfect. I know its the very end of the riding season but if you want a Super Meteor get it now because come spring they will be all sold out nation wide.
@adityan3208 Жыл бұрын
@@joshuathomas8529really? They're selling that well now? RE doesn't sell too many bikes in the US, maybe the Super Meteor 650 will change that.

Your discussing the gearing and extra usefulness of 3rd has me wondering. Are the sprockets on the Meteor the same as the other bikes? If the change the tooth count or ratio, that might inspire this bigger rider to try different sprocket setups on my INT. I might be better off with a cruiser-esque setup.
@jlrutube131211 ай бұрын
If you went to a lower profile tire to lower the bike it would lower the top speed so you would probably want to install a back sprocket with couple less teeth to compensate. Besides, you said the Super Meteor has the same gearing as the Interceptor but actually it doesn't because since the Super Meteor is heavier than the Interceptor they put a back sprocket with a tooth or two more to help a heavier bike accelerate. So I would go with a smaller sprocket anyway. Or you could possibly go with one more tooth on the front sprocket.

just started video, but will say I'm very interested in which you prefer, I'm torn between INT650 and SM650 as my next bike

If you have that bike on hand, mind doing me a favor? If you could stand next to the bike, and draw a diagonal from the rear corner of the seat (where your butt lands) in the seat to the foot pegs, how long is that? Been looking for a smaller cruiser that can take long legs. Occasionally I borrow a HD Dyna Super with forward pegs.
@joshuathomas852911 ай бұрын
@suzyamerica4679 You want a measurement from the back of the seat to the foot pegs? Totally due able. I have a video up on my Chanel of my bike hope that helps.

@@joshuathomas8529 Thank you very very much! Some smaller cruisers don't fit me at all (Honda Rebel 500) because there's not enough space for controls forward enough for my legs. And I am not really sold on Harleys. Oh and merry Christmas!
@joshuathomas852911 ай бұрын
@suzyamerica4679 I went and ran a tape on it. From the top at the back of the operator seat to the center of the foot peg is 36 inches. I am 6 foot 2, and my legs when I am sitting on it are probably at a 95-degree angle when I am sitting on it. Hope this helps Mary Christmas. Good luck with your bike research. I totally agree, the rebel has an uncomfortable sitting position. I went with the super meteor after sitting on the meteor 350. I loved the sitting position on the 350 I just was not sold on the lack of power.The super meteor has a slightly more foot forward sitting position than the 350 but not somuch as to make much of difference in comfort.
@suzyamerica467911 ай бұрын
@@joshuathomas8529 Thank you! That's perfect. On the Harley in question it's 34" and that's decently comfy. Long legs. I will have to go sit on one. Another small cruiser I've been looking at is the Eliminator 450. It's roughly the same price as your bike. Subscribed so I can keep up with your adventures on this bike.

For a first real bike (Had a Honda Navi) would you advise the 350 or the 650 from your experience with them? Got a deposit at my local dealer for a 350 atm but they have 650s coming in along with them and its certainly tempting. Dont really do any highway, all back roads and urban streets.
