Anyone else realize that Syndrome didn't even bother looking behind him to see if anyone was killed after that truck he threw behind him?
@tylermarchand2996 Жыл бұрын
And Mr. Incredible was the one who got into trouble for being a destructive savior. As a bonus, when the Omnidroid did its sneak attack, Syndrome actually fled towards the civilians he was supposedly “protecting”. It would’ve been all too easy for the Omnidroid to “accidentally” hit someone innocent…

What's tragic is even if Mr Incredible wanted to have Buddy be his sidekick, the Anti Superhero laws would've still driven him to a dark path. Perhaps creating threats via his robots in order to legalize superheroes again.
@comicbookreviewer4856 Жыл бұрын
I feel Mr incredible rejecting Buddy as his sidekick was justified as he never Buddy never had powers and he was never going to put a Kid in danger and even when he had a Bomb on him he refused to here him out and Him saying I was wrong to treat you that way shows despite rejecting him he now regrets seeing How he wasted everything he did for Nothing

I also found the link between dash and syndrome interesting, because early in the film, dash is on a similar destructive path. He pranks, hurts people, is disrespectful, disruptive and tries to lie. When told by his mom that everyone is special, he says it’s another way of saying no one is. In syndrome’s last monologue and manifesto, he echoes this when he says “then everyone can be a super, and when everyone is super, no one will be.” It shows at least to me that dash was not that far off mentally from believing himself above everyone and using his powers regardless of what end, for good or evil- he just wanted to use them. Dash was almost a villain until finding purpose and family cohesion.

One thing that makes Syndrome's ultimate fall into villainy even more aweful is that he seems to forget that Mr. Incredible saved his life. Instead of being so fixated on Mr. Incredibles rejection, he should have considered his near death a wake up call that he shouldn't be trying to do what mr.incredible does at his age.

I remember watching Syndrome when I was a kid and thinking he was a really good villain, but now that I’m an adult and truly understand the actions he took and the ends those actions supported, he’s actually quite terrifying. A young man mistreated by those he idolized to the point of wishing them dead. His conviction to this idea is so strong that he committed genocide of most of the remaining superheroes. Ps. Could you do a video on Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean? He is probably the best thematic representation of heartbreak I’ve ever seen.
@jdsimmons9711 ай бұрын
Hmm. I don't know about mistreatment. I will admit he'd probably was a super genius. But he was obsessed and that obsession blinded him. Mr. Incredible had the right to say those things considered the situation. Could things be talked over and explained why he couldn't be tagged alongside with Mr. Incredible? Yes. But it had to be in a controlled and calmed environment. Not be there where there's a bomb making mime thief who's about to be arrested and could still be a danger to everyone around him.
@chrisnotpratt190310 ай бұрын
I don't think mistreated is the correct word, tbh. Mr. Incredible had several reasons to not have Buddy as his sidekick, such as how he had no idea what it means to be a true superhero, the fact he was a kid who had no idea what he was doing, etc. Also, as someone else mentioned, the Anti-superhero laws would have driven him down the same path, but with different motivations.
@magicaltour12 ай бұрын
He wasn’t mistreated. Indeed, even as a boy he was pushy and toxic, insisting on being Mr. Incredible’s sidekick even after being told no. Repeatedly. His narcissism was already evident. I think he was always going to be a problem. In any case, he only wanted to be a hero to show off, not to do any actual good for other people.

Syndrome is such a fascinating villain. There are some parallels between him and Mr. Incredible in that they're both obsessed with the past for different reasons, but one was a Super while the other want to help Supers. I feel like Syndrome unintentionally showed Mr. Incredible what an obsession with the past could do to him while also showing how his past actions affected others.

After you trashed the last one, I had to make some major modifications!! Sure it was difficult, but you are worth it!! I mean, after all…I am your biggest fan. Mr. Incredible: Buddy? Syndrome: My name is not *BUDDY!!!!!!!!!* And it’s not IncrediBoy, either!!!! That ship has sailed!!! All I wanted was to help you. I only wanted to help!!! And what did you say to me?!?!?! Flashback Mr. Incredible: Fly home, buddy. I work alone. Syndrome: It tore me apart, but I learned an important lesson: you can’t count on anyone. *ESPECIALLY* your heroes. Mr. Incredible: I was wrong to treat you that way!! I’m sorry!! Syndrome: See? Now you respect me, because I’m a threat!! And that’s the way it works. Turns out there’s a lot of people, whole countries who want respect!! And they will pay through the nose to get it!! How do you think I got rich? I invented weapons. And now I have a weapon that only I can defeat!! And when I unleash it… *YOU SLY DOG!!!!! YOU GOT ME MONOLOGUING!!!!* I can’t believe this!!!! It’s cool, huh? Zero-point energy. Yeah, I save the best inventions for myself. *AM I GOOD ENOUGH NOW?!?!?! WHO’S SUPER NOW?!?!?! I’M SYNDROME, YOUR NEMESIS AND…* Oh brilliant.

Idk I don’t want him to be dead so I can imagine maybe he turned the zero point energy field on himself before the explosion. He would be stuck that way until someone who knows that technology could get him out. Maybe he did invent some thing that he even kept from his final fight. It’s likely that invulnerability would have been high on his list of qualities to replicate with his technology. Feeling like Mr. incredible wrecked his flight pattern by hanging on his cape, I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t have made the caveman able to break away. If he was aware that his cave had a bomb attached to it, maybe he designed his cape to explode when it breaks away. I love speculating.

Looking at Syndromes intellect as an actuall superpower seems quiet right to me, hes nut just intelligent... the word genius isnt even adequate. Not only did he invent Robots and gadgets that are superior to actual superheros, he also played the markets to make an infinit fortune, played politics, society, every system und every person around him and even out of his reach, all of it was a longcon for one specific goal with an endresult that had ramifications that most people wuld not even have understood as it is happening. wich brings me to the last point, he also invented a way that culd give peoples wo did not have superpowers befor actuall superpowers on a scale that wuld make them essentialy the norm... Genius dose not describe that mans level of brains.
