EXOTIC 1996 Haushahn Traction Scenic Lifts - Hotel ***** Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, ID

These already rare Haushahn lifts are currently in the process of replacement. The replacements coincide with the management’s decision to renovate its outdated rooms. They have appointed Mitsubishi to replace these lifts which comes at no surprise as Jakarta Setiabudi International (who owns this property) are known for their preference of Mitsubishi lifts and several of their newer, high end properties often features them. Lift 3 (Right) has been fully replaced and is awaiting comissioning. This might as well be the only documentation of these lifts as it will only be a matter of time before Lifts 1 & 2 (Left & Centre) gets decomissioned and replaced just like Lift 3.
These lifts have its own distinctive traits. Lift 1 still has its chime intact while Lift 2 likes to slam its doors shut.

Man these elevators are still in very good shape for their age. Sad to see they will be replaced but at least the new ones are Mitsubishi. These could very well be the last remaining Haushahn elevators in Java, if the service elevators at the run down Twin Plaza Hotel, Jakarta have been ruined. Love those banging older Sematic 2000 series doors.

Yeah I agree, these lifts are still in a relatively good condition. The only valid reason I could justify for modernisation/replacement is the slow levelling. Replacing the logic with Schindler Miconic while leaving the fixtures and interiors as it is would have been better. A complete replacement is overkill imo. And yes, this might be one of the last Haushahns on the island of java apart from the service lifts here which I did not check.

I'm assuming the lack of spare parts in these lifts could be the reason why the hotel decided to replace them, considering these lifts were made by a European company who no longer has business in Indonesia (even its sole distributor had stopped distributing Haushahn which is a pity) and the parts used in these lifts are now most likely obsolete.
