Greg and Ericka have learned to blend so well...they just sound so good. When they did this slow spiritual song, I forgot the name, I just get tears in my eyes. and very effective to do one verse acapella, [no instruments, just voices].

I applaud Jim for the sound. Especially in this case when the singing is the linchpin of the song. If you can, satisfy my curiosity and tell me the secret of where you had the recorder set up. There were problems with the vocal line in DBA. Regards and I am waiting for more:)
@JamesSterling3 жыл бұрын
I had to make do with what was available. There were reserved seats to the right of the stage and I was seated on the front row. The only place for my audio recorder was on the ground under my chair. I must complement whoever was responsible for the sound set up at the event. The event promoter had a mixing board with a sound man keeping the mics and speakers balanced. It was so much better than the haphazard sound systems at the clubs where they play on Frenchmen Street. Plus there was not as much crowd noise during the performance, some but not like the clubs. There actually was a Latin festival going on a block away with another band playing that fortunately doesn't show up in my audio.

Thanks for the comprehensive explanation. The sound on the videos of this performance is very good indeed

@@misfozje3434 Another thing I am doing now is using audio editing software to try and accentuate the vocals. After posting videos for over five years I am gradually learning how to make them better. I am a slow learner!

Looks like Tuba Skinny have been trapped and are playing from behind bars. Maybe they weren't wearing masks. But they play normally, which is beautiful!

I’ve been enjoying the mainly TS videos, but I can’t help but wonder if the musicians see any revenue from KZbin? If not, that’s a problem.
@JamesSterling2 жыл бұрын
I've had my channel for almost 7 years now but only started monetizing it last August after I noticed that KZbin was running ads on it (and pocketing the ad revenue themselves.) Since I began monetizing it I send a portion of the ad revenue to Tuba Skinny every month voluntarily. The rest of the revenue I will use to pay for trips to New Orleans to make more videos and pay the taxes on it. I can't speak for what other KZbinrs are doing. The only way that KZbin would pay them directly would be if they had a copyright filed on their music with KZbin then they could get paid directly by KZbin (Google.)

I love Tuba Skinny’s music. Full stop. Each musician is magical. That said, when Erika is participating, respectfully, her voice should be the primary. It is as special as Shaye’s contributions. Just two cents from a guy who doesn’t know shit about music. Just know what I like.

What's with the cattle guard? Are they fenced in or are we fenced out. Sure the audio is great. Sure the visual sucks.

What's with the cattle guard? Beats me. Everyone seems to have the same negative opinion about it, me included. But, like you say, the sound system was excellent.

Let's get over this fence already. It happened and nothing will change that. I don't like it either but it can't overshadow the joy of listening to the music of our favorite band
