Can we get a Kendal Daniels “in the weeds”? Love his tape. Only knock is him giving up on plays, but he won’t do that at OU or he won’t play. OSU had to play him regardless. BV gets that defense ready to play every week & I predict Daniels will be our best player on D behind R Mason (& maybe Jayden Jackson).

We just have to except that this year tight end is one of his positions where we are ripping the Band-Aid off and rolling with the young inexperienced star (Davion). Kent is a solid player that really looks like he is coverage for if Helms gets hurt again. But right now I’m good with Mitchell, Helms, McIntyre and Kent being the guys.

Thanks guys. Was hoping for a quick look at OUr incoming portal players. Guy looks serviceable as a receiver and blocker. 6 mos with Schmidtty should get him around 250 and stronger. Not gonna knock a guy that’s putting in effort. We’ll see how he looks in September. Next up.

is the totality of the tight end room can be reliable on important downs, good pass catchers when needed, and most importantly good blockers by committee then honestly it does not matter if the room doesn't have that great guy, cause you don't need it TE isn't a make or break position you definitely need a reliable room but you don't need an elite room, if Oklahoma run game continues on the trajectory it was on last year, and the passing/blocking improves immensely then Oklahoma will be in position to compete this year

@seanb.4712 i agree all accept for 5 star Mitchell, not even OU gets 5 star TEs very often, 5 star TEs nationwide are few and far between but my confidence in that kid, lets just say, has dwindled mightily...there is literally no reason for him not to see the field in that bowl game, wouldnt have burned the redshirt and we had very few TEs....its time for the kid to grow up or find another team or sport

Honest to God, i actually liked this pickup more than most ive seen, get him in Norman, he can put on 10 lbs or more in the off season and hes got enough tools that Arbuckle can fit in his system...i dont look at his production at Kenn State really, was a terrible system, terrible coaches, terrible QB, its a miracle the kid ended up with any TDs

Heres an idea, how about we actually see what these portal guys can do in the offseason and see what they are after a damn game or 2 at least...you never know what a kid like this is made of, he could show up at a blue blood from a school like Kennesaw State and use it to drive him like no other and you end up with a damn good player who works his ass off for the opportunity....i cant stand sunshine pumpers but i also cant stand fans who shit on players before they ever even see them step foot on the field here

Teddy saying he's not a break out guy but a depth guy doesn't make my heart go pitter patter. It's the worst Tight End room we have probably ever had, and he is a depth guy. What am I missing here? Venables has one year to prove he can do it. Scoring was our problem. We aren't willing to open the pocket books to get a big time tight and and receiver? Looks like his head coaching career is about over at OU. I don't say that lightly. I wanted him to succeed badly. I am afraid he has not upgraded the offensive parts he needs, enough to win in the SEC.
