There's a gaint skate trail here in Winnipeg Manitoba and you can kinda do the same thing we skate on the two major rivers in the middle of the city

On occasion we get some gnarly ice storms in the southern US that dump up to an inch of ice on everything. I've heard people skate around in areas where it's thick and consistent enough. I've never seen it though.

I’m so jealous!!! I live in Switzerland, and the lake that I live next to, used to freeze in winter, but the last time it happened was 1984... I know a guy who skated to school in winter every winter (around 1940,) cause he lived on the opposite side of the lake, and it would take him 1 hour by train and about 30-40 mins on skates. The lake is 12 km long. But I never got to skate on it, cause I was born in 2001. Climate change and stuff you know☹️😔😖
