Anyone notice how the kids usually used to cling onto Stabler? And he was usually the one to grab them, hug them, and tell them it was gonna be okay? Stabler was the one most likely to “build a rapport” with a kid, though they’d often send Olivia in because girls were much more likely to disclose to her. I loved how they developed Elliot into a father. The expected and stereotypical thing would’ve been to force Olivia as the affectionate one, but instead we got to see Elliot tap into his life experience and be emotional. I do have to say though, if I was a little kid who had just been through hell, I think I would’ve looked for a woman for comfort.

I know this is only a TV series but this does go on in real life and some go unsolved for years

I could never be in law enforcement. I'd shoot too many criminals out of anger for the victims.

Huh the X Files had an episode about a guy who worked with school photographer who kidnaps girls. Wonder which came first or if they based it off a real case.

Munch is actually from the X-Files. He was a detective in Baltimore on that show and they mention it from time to time on SVU.

Munch was originally on “Homicide: Life On The Street.” It’s a fantastic show and he guest starred as Detective Munch in other TV shows.

This business of "turf" is frequently brought up in this series. There are near fist fights over this turf concept. Who cares---the important thing is to catch the bad guy.
