Marvin’s voice in this song is straight up addicting. The lines “now move” are just so cool sounding

I really want to hear other people’s interpretations of this song or just Goldberg in general. I don’t think its title is literal, but Marvin still had to have done something to ms Goldberg since in “Marvin takes a victory shower” the chorus sings “poor miss Goldberg” so I’m not sure

I think he steals her glasses (edit: cuz throughout the whole song he's obsessed with them and her eyes)

This is a scenario in Marvin’s mind. He wants to have sex with Miss Goldberg (or r4pe her) to reinforce his fake heterosexuality (cuz she is “perfect womanhood” to him) this is why everything feels a bit off, it’s like he made a play in his mind of how it will go (for example in the line “hi miss goldberg at your desk” he is setting a location kinda like in theater) the act of r4ping her is represented by Marvin taking her sunglasses (which is something she wears throughout the whole musical) and putting them on. The sunglasses part can have multiple interpretations. Also the line “Marvin always gets the things he wants. Except the things he wants.” Means that Marvin really wanted to look behind Miss Goldberg’s glasses because he thought he’d find something and ended up realizing she’s just a normal woman.

the first lyrics are “the rape of ms goldberg:by marvin” i consider that to be referring to this whole song like it’s fiction, like a play

@@Mimi-c3e1w this is the first of a triology of musicals, the other two are the march of falsettos and falsetto land ( both of these musicals were turned into one in the 2016 revival and named falsettos)

@@lunarlunar9405 I knew that part! I actually just saw a local theatre do falsettos (the revival version) using most of the lines that the 2016 cast made up :)
