You are correct. Here in North America my African American peers show solidarity regardless. We are well aware that what’s happening in Gaza isn’t the only genocide occurring in the world right now. A lot of my social media feed reiterates Freedom in Palestine, in Congo, in Sudan, etc. What’s interesting to see is the debate over ownership on who can feel what for humanity. On one side you have those who are questioning our merits while also not giving a damn about any ongoing crisis in the world and then you have the others who refuse to be silenced by these tactics. It’s disgusting to see how many people in positions of power (wealthy corporations and wealthy celebrities) who are also partaking in the silencing of the genocide in Gaza. You are 100% correct that we shouldn’t be shamed for feeling the way we do. This is the proper response to seeing destruction. It’s a concern to be numb to these things or to have to debate whether or not it matters.

To be honest, he seems to know 10 x more about ireland and Irish republicanism than you do, you don't seem to be able to assimilate that the word republic can mean different things,,,,btw.....Tiocfaidh ár lá.......Free Palestine

I don't know why you made this comment since I made it clear in the video I was not disputing what he said about Irish Republicanism. I am also confused about what side you think Beau is on, because let's be clear, he is pro Israel, not in favour of freeing Palestine. He was clearly saying he thinks that Irish Republicans who support Palestine do so out of misplaced emotional attachment to supporting those they see as oppressed by colonialism, and don't see the situation in a clear logical way, and that clear logical stance as far as he is concerned is to support Israel.
