This song is sounds simpler than most, fitting the theme of an elementary school teaching the basics. Also, it's a funny coincidence that the person who provided the voice for Kaai Yuki was a 4th grader. The intro melody has a lot of background instruments: This makes it a busy section, perhaps to "audibly visualize" things you might hear during class (ex. students talking). I love the syncopation with the guitars and bass in this song, it adds an uneven feeling, as if a mess-up or mistake occurred. The whole song gives a sense of panic (especially the parts where the wind instruments play), as if time for a test was running out but you're not completed with it. The choruses (0:54, 1:56, 2:35) are interesting. Essentially, they're split into two parts: the first half is mainly guitar and bass, but the second half "stretches" the guitars and adds a flute melody. Perhaps that flute melody is something she tried to cut off from her mind, but it seems to always come back? The section at 2:18 gives me goosebumps, the sudden switch to a much slower speed with Yuki's voice echoing out gives a feeling of a sad realization/truth. This is a great song to begin the Weather Station album.
