Thank you for posting this! Marc is an amazing contributor and is extraordinary and his willingness to help others. Between him and Pavel they are really moving the ball forward with this programming. I hope Pavel gets back in the game soon. Looking forward to the dead reckoning and ground station control! I’m a huge INAV fan and it is great to be watching this develop.

Thanks again Andrew and Marc. There is nothing like talking to the folks that are actually DOING the work. Inevitably, things just fly out of their mouths that cause an Engineer and/or Programmer like myself to actually stop petting his cat, raise his eyebrows and rewind the video.... in this case, there were TWO such moments- (16:53-17:12) and (23:20-23:59).

Thanks for the overview of some of the more interesting features in iNav 8. And a big thankd for all the hard work done by contributors of the project - it's amazing to see all the cool new stuff that keeps getting added, and making it easier to use bit by bit.

ADS-B warnings and geo zones will be great for longer range flying. I fly not to far from a protected zone during summer and knowing my plane will not dash through it that if I ever have a fail safe is just great.

Wow! The iNav team is knocking it out of the park! 👍 iNav 8 is such a huge upgrade! I especially like the UART support for the Walksnail GM gimbal, ADS-B RX support, and dead-reckoning RTH! Regarding the i-Term lock feature (24:00), I kinda like the slight bounce-back after doing a hard roll. The bounce-back confirmed for me the acro mode was indeed "dialed in"! :) But I'll definitely play around with the dynamic i-term feature. If it can avoid bounce-back but still get that smoother flight, I'll keep it around. I'm worried there's a risk it might degrade acro stabilization if the dynamic i-term option turned up too high. Basically, I've gotten so used to stabilized mode, the full manual mode just feels too raw and unstable nowadays. I rarely use manual mode except during initial tuning.

Sorry to ask the question, but english is not my native language, and didn't get all that was said...my problem with INAV6.1 is that with my fixed wings planes, I have a difference in pitch trimming between acro mode and manual, and I noticed that in acro mode, on ground with motor turning, the elevator is not going back exactly to neutral when pitching the plane up or down, like it would be with a normal gyro...is that corrected with INAV 8?

Special thanks to all those involved in the incredible iNav system. I've been using iNav since 1.6 and the time and effort taken up to now is phenomenal. Unfortunately for me the video lost me about a minute into Marc's section😂. The beauty though is that despite this, I am confident of upgrading to 8 and just know it's going to work!

Thank you for the overview! I have some issues with INAV 8.0 (RC1). My plane model uses INAV, and all the PIDs were adjusted in INAV 7. I copied them to the 8.0 version, and in ACRO and Angle mode, it flies excellently. However, when I switch to Auto mode, my plane starts to oscillate with the elevator. In version 7, I never saw PIDs for "Z position." Now, there are Z position PIDs and Z speed PIDs. Perhaps the default settings are not suitable for my model. I haven't found any manual on how to adjust these settings for planes.

I'd pop a question to the developers. I've not flown it on a wing yet... Best of luck

Hi Mark, Would it be possible to add RTK support to iNav? Additionally, could we enable back support for the NMEA protocol? With this protocol, we could utilize very affordable GPS modules (L1+L5) that offer 1-meter precision, as well as RTK modules costing under $50. Thank you!

The best place to ask for this as a feature is via GitHub. I've just looked and can't see an open request...

Is v8 available now, or is it still an RC version? I'm excited about 8, but I make it a point to stick to final release versions instead of release candidates. (I'm just very careful)

I've heard that inav OSD affects the cpu especially the more elements you use vs Betaflight that doesn't affect the cpu. is this something to be concerned about?
@qyitonefpv6551Ай бұрын
I can't give technical words on this, only that I fly long range digital, and analog. My osd is is stacked. There are no issues to be concerned about. I've seen at the most around an 18% cpu usage.

I hope that there is support for more flight controllers. Hglrc f722 mini v2 because it's almost plug and play.
@b14ckyyАй бұрын
is it the HGLRCF405V2 target? Its in the works but not fully validated yet. Maybe a 8.0.1 in worst case we will see.
@grumpyoldnerd8727Ай бұрын
Unlikely. The F722 and F411 chips lack memory and are basically EOL for INAV. You will be able to use it, but it will be feature cut
@craigmichaelgrice213Ай бұрын
It's hglc f722 mini v2 target. It's the fc and esc all in an aluminum box. Totally plug in except for soldering motors and battery leads. I think it's pretty good on bf4. 6 for the position hold and altitude hold. Inav would be better though l think?.

As a novice flyer, I had hoped for a more "perfected" auto landing feature. Is the update from Inav 7 easy to do ? (just copy the InAV7 settings ?)
