I think it doesn't matter much. I think it's becoming way more popular to go fill up growlers or buy cans directly from breweries and specialty bottle shops anyways and AB can't touch that.

I use to think macro beers were such an enemy but they just do business well thats why they are so big, but of course their beer sucks its simply massed produced to get people drunk its barely tolerable unless ice cold, but obviously craft beer is doing so well because people realize beer can have flavor, great flavor and so much variety too, so maybe its not a bad thing I think you have macro guys in black and micro guys in white and a decade or more from now all beer will meet in the middle at grey they will have more flavor then the big guys offer now but cost much less than the little guys charge...Interesting to see where it goes...
@oneeyedlittleman7 жыл бұрын
that's already happened. sam adams is craft still, but only barely. the difference is they dont use illegal and monopolistic practices to get what they want unlike abinbev
@cutlerylover7 жыл бұрын
Well many would argues they have been the first craft brewery that "made it" With their distribution they were the first big guy to brew strange and different beer...As far as Imbev goes they are too big to fail and they will continue to be corrupt just like government we will win some small battles but overall they do as the please...WAY too much money to stop them easily, everyone has their number and everyone can be paid off even the most down to earth proud small brewer will sell out for the right price, and I cant blame them they all brew beer to provide for their families and as much of passion they have for it knowing your family never has to worry about bills or your kids families and your grandkids families...tough to say no to that...

Hi Chris, great video as always. I've felt for a while Ratebeer is seen too much as a bible to many - this purchase could pave the way for other resources like untappd (which is a fantastic app) to make a real mark. I like untappd for its simplicity and ease of use. Sometimes Ratebeer reviews can descend into war and peace. Keep up the good work, from a UK subscriber.

InBev has been buying Breweries, website and other related beer things but really have done nothing with any of it other then add to there growing portfolio and take up more shelf space. Do you think they have a real plain for everything that they have purchased in the last few years? Also how much of the craft beer's10 -15% of the market place are they really ever going to capture with all the backlash and boycotting from the industry and craft beer drinking? is it really worth all the trouble they are going through?

Your so on the money chris. Thanks for the Education. I hope craft beer can stay true and alive. But loosing faith, i guess its all apart in making a quick buck. Support your small local craft brewery, its more than about beer its about community!!!

As long as there is quality beer, it doesn't really matter who owns who. I think it is shortsighted to think all craft brewers does it for the love of craft.
@BeerGeekNation7 жыл бұрын
Its not the quality of the beer that matters

So who is next here Stone, Sierra Nevada briefcases have been offered to other craft breweries, this is upsetting, can't even buy South African hops because Northern Brewer (In-Bev) sells them at $50 per lb.
@AdamCraigOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
the craft world sure seems to be going down the crapper. I think it is a fad like a lot of things anyways. I think the guys who truly love it, will stay true, and continue to make beer. Those who are on the fence or don't care, will sell out like you have been seeing. InBev is buying up those less then great companies which in the end isn't going to hurt the good beers and brewery's. In my opinion anyways. Anyways cheers Chris!!

per the deal that Budweiser inbev did they could not bye anymore breweries or distilleries this may take them to antitrust Court and they may have to sell off another brand or two but since they are owned by 3G Capital Investments Budweiser inbev could buy Starbucks

This one is a bummer because RateBeer has done a lot for the craft beer industry for years. The RateBeer Best events were spectacular, and I'd imagine it won't come back next year. No wonder Joe Tucker bounced from Sonoma County a few months back. Always been cool to me but this was a dumb move. Should have sold the whole thing and cashed out, now his businesses rep is burnt.

Adding an ownership stake to a site that is supposed to provide independent reviews of their own production and their competition's products just reeks of foul play.

This is most definitely a malicious attack on the industry. What they claim they want out of this deal they could do easily and much cheaper by developing software for analysis. Drop that site immediately and let them fade away. I personally trust untapped more than anything. Get it and use it.
