Wow! Thanks so much for this Jess and Dave. I have an opportunity to take this trek Sept. '25 and I've been reluctant to commit for lack of confidence. This was SO real and meaningful. Because of your video, I've decided to take the challenge. I can do this! Thanks again.

curious about the backpacks used, trying to find something similar. Did anyone check the size of them when entering? :)

Our backpacks that we used are unfortunately discontinued by Northface. I think they are 50L and most people don’t bring a pack this large as your porter will carry most of your gear. We brought ours because we were living out of them and had a bit more gear than most. The style of bag is an ultralight using Dyneema fabric. There are a couple companies making this style of bag but they do tend to be pretty expensive as they are a niche item. For checking bags, we did have to check our bags when entering MP. They have a booth and it’s a small fee. For the entire hike though, no limits, no checks.

Are the equipment included ??

Tents and the bag you fill for the porters to carry are included. You can pay to rent sleeping bags (25USD), air mattresses (20USD) and hiking poles or you can bring your own. You need to bring your own day pack and water bottle. Let me know if you have any other questions about specific items you need:)
