This movie... one of the best of all time. So entertaining, intense. Nolan really is one of a kind. That man knows what actors will make a movie and have the talent and ability. Murphy, Hardy, DiCaprio. All awesome. Hans Zimmer, not from this planet. Zimmer belongs with the gods. I'm so excited for Dunkirk. That will be epitome of epic.

Maybe I am wrong, but as far as I know, in Greek mythology it was a bad thing to toast with water. It reminds of the afterlife and the river Stix. Perhaps it is a metaphore for going on an another level, on a different journey in life. That is what Cobb and others in fact do, go into a dark place, a different reality in which many things are blurred, unpredictable and unknown. They have just a slight "idea" what is on the other side but they don't know what could happen. We see that in many situations throughout the movie (such as when Saito gets shot or in many situations where Mall appears). If that is the truth, then another bravo for mister Chris Nolan. Such subtle details make this movie even more genius and briliant.

It's interesting that Ariadne helps Dom, and Nolan naming her after the Character in Greek Mythology. Ariadne was the woman who helped Thesus navigate the Labrinyth (another maze) and slay the Minotaur (A bull, but in the case of inception - Mal)

I love this movie but I doesn’t make sense for Cobb to pass the guy the drink. Would have made sense to have the attendant do it. Also, dude didn’t even think it was suspicious that a passenger was handing him an open water. I ponder how many people accept open drinks from people that they don’t know, that aren’t working in a paid/professional setting.

So at the end of the rest of the team made it out but Cobb and Saito didn’t all they’d have to do is give them a shove and make them fall to wake them up instead of depending on the two of them realising it’s a dream and killing each other?

Just my thought as a reply to your question.. i think the focus was for cob to have a conversation with fischer where he mentions to him that his father was an inspiration which would later enable fischer to interpret his fathers disappointment as a way of inspiring him to be his own and create the seed for inception.. the pill could be added to drink by the flight attendant as well but would have not allowed cob the freedom to havr the conversation..

I’m Australian so I can answer this! If you look at the passport, Fischer was born in 1973 in Sydney. Australia at that point had jus soli where anyone born on Australian soil would be a citizen at birth up until 1986 where the Citizenship Act was changed to only grant birthright citizenship if at least one parent was a citizen or permanent resident, or if you were at risk of being stateless. If neither parent was a citizen/PR, then you’d have to live in Australia continuously for the first 10 years of your life to be eligible for citizenship. The rules were also changed recently for New Zealand SCV holders, in addition to being automatically eligible for PR to eventually get citizenship, they’re children born on Australian soil will automatically be Australian citizens. I’m presuming as well Fischer was also a dual US citizen as I think I remember either his Dad or his Mum was American which confers citizenship on the child, the reason he uses his Australian one here leaving Sydney is because Australian dual citizens must use their Australian passport to enter/exit Australia. Fun tidbit for you!

Also a bit of a personal anecdote applying for an adult Australian passport in 2016 or so, since I was born in 1997 which was after the Citizenship Act changes in 1986, I also had to show a certified original copy of my Mum or Dad’s birth certificate to prove that at least one of my parents was a citizen/PR when I was born which would confirm I was a citizen at birth. Both my parents were born in 1968 so they automatically had citizenship at birth which wasn’t dependent on the citizenship or residency status of their parents. Fischer being born in Sydney in 1973 automatically made him a citizen so he would have just had to show his birth certificate to prove he was born in Australia before 1986. I also had a work colleague that gave birth to her son in Japan, which like Australia and most countries does not have jus soli, so technically her son was stateless for a month or so until the embassy and Home Affairs processed his claim to citizenship through his mother being Australian.

Never understood if they own the plane, and the Stewardess works with them,... then why take the risk with Dom spiking the water? Wouldn't it been so much easier and risk-free having the stewardess do it when she got the water? Dom could have easily goofed,, dropped the voal into the glass, not pour out the liquid correctly etc... Plot holes lol
