Inches from disaster! - Welgelegen 4x4 Trail - Pajero/Montero almost rolls! 80 Series Land Cruisers

In today's Mission, we take on the Welgelegen 4x4 Trails, which offer a great mix of tough 4x4 obstacles and beautiful Western Cape scenery.
Slippery even in the dry, with its dusty, rocky and steep climbs, Welgelegen 4x4 Trails offer a perfect balance of tough obstacles, escape routes for milder hearted 4x4 enthusiasts for all major challenges, and scenic driving. There are some named feature obstacles such as the epic Kloof, technical Twister, rock crawling-Jeep favourite Brokeback Mountain and teeth clenching SLOOT! You will have to watch how Sloot went for us..........definitely puts your trust in your line choice, vehicle and spotter.
We managed every major feature obstacles.....if just, with the exception of Brokeback Mountain which I'm coming back to conquer next time!
Piloting my Nl Pajero/Montero Blister Fender 2.8TDI with new 32' BF Goodrich KM3 tyres and a 3" Lift, Kai is back in his freshly rebuilt engine'd 1HD Auto 80 Series Land Cruiser, with Chris joining us for his first adventure in his 1HZ 80 Series, we were ready to tackle Welgelegen!
There is an awesome viewpoint from the top of the trail, and a perfect braai/bbq spot under the trees once you are back down.
I believe there is even camping for those that partake in the 4x4ing.
I can't wait to get back there and explore more! Brokeback Mountain I'm coming for you!

Awesome! We did a small bit of Wegelegen recently, but the weather was to hot, so we bailed after Klip Kop. My video is coming on Sunday. Looks like you guys had fun though!

I really prefer the older gen Pajero looks, the bonnet intake really looks cool. I have a SWB gen 3 petrol auto and need to take her off-road properly. Coming from the Triton bakkies in manual its going to be interesting.

At 9:50ish the line chosen seems too much to the left as it would seem better to straddle the hole, I know the terrain on camera isnt always as easy to see so I could be wrong.

what solution did u do for down travel? u adjusted its torsion right? it sacrifices down travel
