Interesting seeing how different companies solve the same problem. Crazy difference in number of components for such a simple task. I've also noticed they've been using flat flex way more in cheap products, guess it's way more affordable these days.

did something similar for laser rulers, they're mostly clones with stm32g0 / stm32f1s in them. lots without bluetooth has the pad for it. wanted to see about using the optics because you can get those things for like 6$ usd while the module that is in them by itself is 45$+, they can do ranging much faster than the ui suggests
