I use to work as a human Google reviewer and can tell you they ask extremely detailed questions for specific web sites and search results. They are usually testing a new algorithm and taking a percentage of searches to test which result (side A or Side B) is a better result. Google claims the reviewers do not play a part as to if a specific page ranks or not but rather testing if the new algorithm is providing better results or not. Hope that makes sense 😁

Great content! I've watched a lot of regurgitated bs about SEO. I've spent hours and hours learning the same tricks that don't work, and you can clearly tell that they are just marketing schemes. This is a legitimate video where you provide good value and actually give good information. Its true that you must not blindly follow the average monthly search that most paid tools give you. In my experience, a keyword that I found had 10 monthly searches, wrote a descent content and was not planning to put huge work on it, now brings almost half the overall site traffic! Hi guys, one question I use wordpress with Yoast SEO plugin, that plugin tells me the the key phrase must be included in the snippet but if I use your strategy of answering the question within the snippet then I wouldn´t have much space to type the whole key phrase, how do you overcome this issue? or you don´t put the key phrase in the snippet at all?
@Martin.Freisinger3 жыл бұрын
I wonder how important those keywords still are. They mention briefly that semantics have become much more important for ranking. From yoast's point of view it makes sense that yoast focuses on keywords since that is a service that a plugin can offer pretty easily whereas well written snippets or posts do not easily lend themselves to such automation.

Content is king, but sometimes even crap content can bring you heaps of traffic. I had a mixed martial arts blog ten years ago, averaging about 1000 page views a day. I posted a very boring fight video from the very first UFC event. Another big website linked to it from their '10 worst fights in UFC history' post. Over the next 3 days I got 11,000, 22,000 and then 9,000 visitors respectively and I got my best adsense revenue ever. Because I was hosting the video on my site the hosting company shut the site down temporarily because my basic shared hosting plan could not handle the traffic.

Backlinks, I don't get it. For example, why would a weight loss blog link to my weight loss blog ? We are direct competitors.
@Gane8124 жыл бұрын
1. You're looking at backlinks from the wrong perspective. If we take your example, Weight Loss, that's a subniche within a larger category (Fitness). However, in the main category, there's not only weight loss blogs, but other subniches. These can also be potential avenues for backlinks as your content can directly relate to their audiences. 2. Blogs aren't the only thing existing within a niche. There's businesses, e-commerce stores, news outlets, etc, which either have a higher DA, or are an authority within the niche. These backlinks are also relevant. 3. The goal is to create the best possible content. If you create a good resource about a certain topic (good enough to be shared). Then you will get backlinks, regardless if they are competitors or not. If you take the time to create good content (original research, tons of data, etc) that isn't easily copied and is popular in your audience, getting backlinks isn't a problem. The main focus should always be the end user/visitor. If you create content that people in your niche will find useful and love, backlinks will come naturally.
