nice demo, nice weld i will tell you you are a badass welder🧐💪💪..i love to weld inconel. miss this exotic material, pure inconel. and inconel cladded. the cladded pipe is the really challenging. because of magnetic 😂 this material is not easy to weld. you really need a patience 😅 i've done those material last 2016to2019 no work gap, in my previous company in kazakhstan

Welding is an art and a gift as much as a trainable skill. Welding easy easy to learn but hard to master. I for one no longer have what it takes to be a welder. Welders are a dime a dozen, good welders are crazy rare and command a premium.
@ohiodogman40413 жыл бұрын
Yes but those willing to learn yet limited to the environment, takes the fun out. Then your just doing anything to eat, living in south Eastern Ohio am dying to weld on boats, can’t due to location. Even though I live close to Parkersburg an pomeroy
@ohiodogman40413 жыл бұрын
Forgot to say it’s not due to lack of skill either, when I got out of welding school I was gun-ho then reality stomped me down, but I’m like Tyson, I’ll bite a ear off if will get me my chance

this really is a good video. nobody has videos showing how to weld inconel. you guys should of done a super coupon because that's most likely what you will get tested on but it was a great video. thanks
@freddyrasheed5285 жыл бұрын
I love you your tutorials,The only Thing I wish you would show to the younger generation. Is lay wire techniques, or face feeding. Only because a lot of companies here only want to see 3/32 push through, max 1/16. Especially in nuclear. I watched them bust out about 20 guys in the last two weeks. Even though code says 1/8 On your reinforcement. That’s not what they’re allowing. Keep up the good work guys, and God bless.

😮 Ive been tigwelding pipe last 30 years on pressure pipe. Just started a job were im welding 18" inconel. Its been a struggle!!! Usually root with 1/8, no way with inconel, dummied down to 3/32. Its totally different than anything ive welded before, very slow and need to dab on my edges insted of laying the rod their. Last week its like im learning to weld all over again, kinda licking the challenge of it all. See how the X-Ray goes, its a pretty tight code🤞🤞

In Dow Chemical we tested to ASME Sec IX and welded in the field to ANSI B31.3. Inconel, being a nickel based alloy falls under the same qualification as Nickel 200. In 1971 I tested 2’ xhy open root with Nickel 400 which qualified me to weld inconel 625. In today’s world all alloy in Dow is tig rooted. Imagine running SS & nickel stick open roots passing xray in 6G or 2G/5G. Few could pass the test and fewer could weld in the field after passing the test without repairs so the qualification & test was stopped in the late 70’s. Weaving 6Gs with all welding process we used in Dow and all materials was my trademark! Keep your puddle horizontal and never forget it. Too many of these KZbin welding videos never tell the spec or Code they are welding to.

As much as i like this channel and find it informative, I feel like every episode is in regards to pipe. It’d be cool to see some fabrication, Tig aluminum/stainless or some exotic metals. Something different, man.

This is an exotic metal 🤨

Miguel Galicia tons of other channels for that man. This is a pipe welding school, they don’t fabricate, all about learning the round stuff ( if it ain’t round throw it down ) and helping the students with what they will see more of on the jobs and in the future. Inconel pipe welding is one of the top paying metals to weld.

Great video and great skills. Sounds like the test labs in Houston are a lot more lenient than I'm used to. I test in Baton Rouge a lot, and once you feather your tacks the grinding disk is basically off limits. No more feathering your start and stops, and no grinding a tig bead. They might cut you some slack if you fire up with no argon by mistake. I can't really remember, but I think they want you to stick rod the hot pass too.

This is a great way to do it problem I have is when you test or fit up on site and they only allow you 1/8” tolerance for root gap and by the time you get up top it’s slamming shut.
@josemurillo10394 жыл бұрын
Mike Wilkes get them the 1/8 gap they want. Once they leave just open it up to 5/32 or 3/16 whatever you work with.

Late reply, but for anybody reading this: if it happens to you, just run a zip up along the bevel to open it up but keep the knife edge (you're running parallel on the bevel). Works for me.

im not a master of welding😊 but i want to share my experience. and i miss to weld exotic material. inconel's rootpass is not easier like 316. when you apply the inconel's root, its a littlebit sticky or harder or i mean to wipe on both landing. and then the electrode is much easier to apply in pure inconel material. but its not easy to apply the electrode in inconel cladded pipe. especially when you encountered the pipe that has a magnet😅that you bcome crazy that time it suck really😅

Can you make a video how to weld galvanized steel
@kf85755 жыл бұрын
Not much different from welding any other steel imho. Just have to clean it off. Grind it off (not the best way tbh as still leaves traces), machine it off (best way if possible to do) burn with oxy acetylene (have to be careful not to overheat the material as may ruin properties of the steel) Or acid treatment (how its done if you sent it to a galvanizers to have it stripped.
