Listen carefully people for the sound of a bell ringing at a funeral in the first movt; fact is the greatest of all number 14th famous sonata, very deep and sensible to every touch, wow! I am amazed by incredible talent of Mrs. Annie Fisher, a truly Beethoven interpreter. This is what Beethoven himlelf would want his sonata to be played and heard in our time. It definitely the sounds of the genius! RIP Mrs Fischer

This is indeed a wonderful interpretation, from 1977. I would really love to have had the chance to see this as she played it, as well as to hear it. But it sounded enchanting.

One cannot but think how many splendid jewish musicians had to flee from nazi prosecution from Germany, Austria, Hungary and the other countries of Eastern Europe, where jews were the cultural aristocracy in music, philosophy and arts in general. The case of Vienna is a tragic example. Czechoslovakia and Hungary, the land of Annie Fischer, are examples of this enormous loss. Fortunately, Fischer could return and live a successful musical life after WW II in her lovely Hungary.

@@AttilaTM Vielleicht so.

Losers like me enjoy more than one interpretation. If there was only one right tempo, pedal or finger attack, we would have karaoke or piano roll performances. That's why I loved Glenn Gould. Not that he played so well. But he annoyed all the right people. Cough Cough.

The 1st movement is to slow i know its not supposed to be fast like the ending but its not supposed to be largo (super slow)
@serbanpopescu1032

She's playing the first Movement too slow. It's a Funeral March, not a nocturnal leisure boating on lake Lucerne. The tempo she's using induces sleepiness more than drama.
@serbanpopescu1032

*****The first movement is marked "a la breva", which means that the tempo is twice as fast as the marked value (adagio sustenuto). Furthermore, the "sensa sordini", i.e. with the damper pressed all the way, *without* lifting it for the duration of the piece, cannot work if the tempo is too slow.

+Serban Popescu well my teacher told and i agree with her the temp she is using on first movement is right.Adagio sostenuto means very slow and sostenuto - really low -piano as it is called. so she is playing very right 1st movement, second movement and so does 3rd movement :) PS Beethoven wrote adagio sostenuto and Annie played right
