Hi! I've recently started writing my first novel. I'm a graphic designer - I have a CC account, and know InDesign pretty much inside out. So, is there an advantage to using InCopy (as an author) verse using InDesign? I've never used InCopy... does it spell and grammar check on the fly like MS Word?

Hey Paul, congrats on the novel! When it comes to the word processing power of InCopy and InDesign, they're pretty similar. They both have the standard spelling tools of 'dynamic spelling' and 'autocorrect' (in the edit menu). There is no grammar tool in either but maybe there is a plugin? InCopy offers different/striped back views of the text which might be helpful in the editing process. Since you already know InDesign I would be inclined to write and edit in a word processing program then layout in InDesign. InCopy really shines when you have a third party editor who doesn't know InDesign as it removes the need for marked up PDFs. All the best man!
