INCREASE ENGINE EFFICIENCY BY DOING THIS is a step-by-step guide on what you need to do to inspect and/or replace the sparkplugs and ignition coils in your Toyota Vios / Yaris.
The method is straightforward and simple and the same principles apply to other vehicles as well.
The sparkplugs and ignition coils work hand in hand to generate your engine's power via fuel combustion. The ignition coils convey the electricity to the sparkplugs which create the spark needed for combustion of the compressed air and fuel mixture inside the cylinders.
If any of these fail, the engine will not be able to run properly and may show abnormal symptoms like rough idling, poor acceleration, hard starting, or misfiring to name a few.
If you notice one or more of these issues, consider inspecting or, if necessary, replacing the ignition coils or sparkplugs. When one sparkplug (or ignition coil) goes bad, replace all four to be sure. Always replace them as a set and with OEM parts to ensure reliability. Don't cheap out on these important parts.
Sparkplugs and ignition coils are easy to inspect or replace. This video will show you the steps and what tools you need.

@@ricogwapo6013 Magre-reset po sya sir, pero yun ang isa sa gusto natin mangyari pag nagpalit tayo ng sparkplugs o iba pang essential electrical components para kung sakali nag cause ng errors yung luma ay ma-refresh natin ang memory ng ECU para sa bagong pyesa.

No need to disconnect the positive (red) terminal. Just disconnecting the negative (black) terminal is good enough for safety.

The performance has been excellent so far. According to the owner's manual non-iridium sparkplugs (like the Nippon Denso K16R-U11 I used in the video) should be replaced every 40,000 kilometers. Whereas, iridium sparkplugs should be replaced every 100,000 kilometers.

Iridium-tipped sparkplugs are more durable than regular sparkplugs and can last for 100,000 km before needing replacement. Just use the type recommended in your car's owner's manual for compatibility. (Usually it's either DENSO SK/6R11 or NGK IFR5A11)

newbie sir sana mapansin... 2nd hand car lang po kasi yung nakuha ko and nsa 72k km na po siya now. Is it advisable to replace my sparkplugs? and ano po maganda for a gen 3 2018 vios?

Opo sir. DENSO K16-RU11 o kaya NGK BKR5EYA-11 sparkplugs po ang para sa 2NZ-FE engine. Kung 1NZ-FE naman ang makina ng Vios nyo, DENSO K16R-U o kaya NGK BKR5EYA sparkplugs po ang pwede (non-Iridium type po ang mga iyan). Sa ganang akin lang po, kung ako bibili ng 2nd hand na sasakyan at hindi ako sigurado sa ginawang maintenance ni previous owner, papalitan ko po ang mga sparkplugs, motor oil, gear oil, brake fluid, coolant fluid, drive belt at battery, pati na rin yung engine air filter at AC filter. Lilinisin ko din yung MAF sensor, PCV valve, VVT solenoid at throttle body at finally, irereset ko ang ECU para maikundisyon ko yung sasakyan at mabantayan ang maintenance schedule nya. Denso or NGK brand po. Around 1k or less po yung apat depende sa seller at kung may makita po kayong set (non-iridium type po usually ang stock sparkplugs from casa). Mas mahal po kung iridium type ang ipapalit nyo, around 700 - 1k po ang isa depende sa seller.

Ang bagay na sparkplugs po para sa 2NZ-FE engine ay either DENSO K16R-U11 o NGK BKR5EYA-11. Ang para sa 1NZ-FE engine naman po ay either DENSO K16R-U o NGK BKR5EYA.

@@orlandotolentino2711 uubra din po yun as an alternative. May konting difference lang po sila sa electrode gap na 0.3mm. Mas maliit po ang gap ng K16R-U kesa sa K16R-U11. Meaning, medyo mas malaki o mahaba po ang lundag ng kuryente sa dulo ng K16R-U11 vs K16R-U. Pero wala naman po magiging major issues kung sakali K16R-U11 ang inilagay. Kahit sa susunod na palit nyo nalang po sya palitan ng para sa 1nz. :)

Hindi po ok yun. Icheck nyo po oil level sa dipstick, baka po sobra dami ng langis ng makina. Maari din may leak sa seals o laspag na ang piston rings o barado ang pcv valve. Alin man po dyan ay pwedeng maging sanhi ng langis sa sparkplugs.
