Wow, I never thought a KZbin video could save my life-well, at least save me from pulling my hair out. Thanks to your super clear and totally not confusing video, I managed to finally solve the issue that was driving me insane. Honestly, who knew something so simple could be explained in only a dozen steps? But seriously, you actually saved me, so I guess I owe you one. Inspirational but above all you save my day! I had to change an "ubuntu server" / root size. Obviously I had to download an "ubuntu desktop" and use your solution... and it works! The desktop version sees my server's partition and voilà! Thanks a lot!

All data setting and files remains as it is. only hard disk size will increase. You can check out other comments as well for confirmation.

You can check the boot order in virtual box setting. Hardisk should be on top.

@@TeachTechofficial in my case I have the boot menu only if CDROM is on top. If hard disk is on top I have the normal boot on the disk. BTW thanks a lot for this very useful tuto

i thought that i lost my files, but you need to do install and choose "Install Ubuntu alongside" , you will find your files inside the disk, just look carefely, for them

There is no Virtual Media Manager in Virtual Box, at least in the latest version

Actually no You don't have to do the image file step. Just increase the space as shown in the 1st step, then install gparted in your guest system and allocate the extra space as shown in the end :)

You might not have turned off the machine. First make sure that powered off is written under all the virtual macines. I faced the same issue and when turn on the machine, i was able to navigate the scale.

@@TeachTechofficial no no. It got resolved. I had downloaded ubuntu in My Downloads and in Documents. I had my data in the Document's .amd file. When resizing, I selected the Download's amd file.🙏
