@spendalot; in all honesty, he could just pay the contractors board a hefty fee to make up for the 4 years of experience. In Reno NV our contractors board is relentless.. However, just recently I witnessed a 23 year old kid with no concrete experience what so ever get his C-27 license. He is now doing housing foundation jobs, big flatwork etc.. I’m not saying that it’s ethical, but nonetheless he’s still getting jobs somehow.

I love hard work like the type of stuff you do and concrete, currently I’ve been working for a super small family owned concrete company. There seem to be a lot of designers named Kim. There is this one designer named Kim who chooses 1 contractor (might be her) and you get all her job referrals until she gets a complaint. We got every single job she referred us to for a couple years, until we had that one trouble customer. This guy added $5k of work to the job that wasn't in the contract and refused to pay for it. That created an argument ( I was pissed). He complained and that was it. She moved on to the next contractor. I no longer enter into exclusive contracts because of that experience. But...it was good while it lasted. I didn't have to advertise for 2 years.

Fabric- to me putting in the fabric first is counterintuitive. Why? & with that being said if you put your fabric in first . You should dig your holes first with the layout . So when you get dirt ON TOP of the weed barrier fabric . That fabric just became a waste of space. The entire purpose is to separate the soil.... from the mulch... from the potential weeds growing . 👌
