Resetting DNS in the command prompt was what did it for me! A few of the other things increased it minimally, but when I reset my DNS it went from 150 Mbps to 600 Mbps. Thank you!

starting the download it was at max speed for the first GB (70-75MB). it became 9-12MB average. after doing this it became 18. took out real time protection it became 30. thanks for the tip

I tried something so stupid, and for no reason the speed of download increased: Go to settings > install options and change the download speed unit to 'bytes per second' (I know the difference between mbps and MB/s, don't worry). My download was 10-12 mbps, and now, after that, the download speed is 50 MB/s. 50 MB/s ~ 400 mbps.
