Have had 2 of these fitted to the hot and cold gravity-fed house supplies for over 3 years as it was less than 0.2 bar pressure. They work better than advertised - shower went from 2.5l/m to over 6l/m (easy to fit and very quiet), but I'm considering fitting 2 more to the hot and cold shower feeds to boost it further. Will the flow double again or will the improvement be less noticeable; will the pressure increase with the same shower setup high flow flexipipe and head)? As an aside, the flow rate was so low on the shower to start with that I had to fit a switch box to swap between automatic mode and manual override for the shower as the flow sensors didn't trigger the pumps. Also added an Alexa plug to the mains supply so they don't run at night if someone uses the toilet! Versatile product and I'm very impressed - highly recommended.

Installed with no leaks & I have to say I'm not getting the pressure others are getting in their videos. The install is about 1m away from the tap due to the moronic install throughout the building I'm working in., vinyl floor with no access to the pipework beneath 🤦 States it can be installed anywhere within a feed? Is this true? Thanks

Can I fit this to a single shower in an unvented indirect system. I have a megaflo eco solar PV ready 300l unvented indirect cylinder. Pressure to all other taps in the house is fine, it's just this one shower, I suspect it's low because it has multiple jets.
@alandwright2 Жыл бұрын
I design the SPB to give a single good tap or shower flow. If you have many showers each one needs a pump. If each jet had a pump then it would work.
@lostunsunghero Жыл бұрын
@@alandwright2 Thanks, I should have been clearer though. The shower takes in the water flow from the hot and cold and then diverts it from the main unit via the internal mixer, there would be no way to install the SPB to each individual jet as it's all controlled by the main unit. Fitting to the inlet feeds would solve my problem, I just don't know if your product is suitable for unvented systems.

@@lostunsunghero We sell lots of SPBs to people with unvented cylinders however for your shower I think it needs a lot of water. The ShowerPowerBooster is an amazing device, it can boost any and all plumbing systems, but it cannot perform miracles. Hi Alan, My plumber has told me this won't work for me as I'm wanting to feed mains cold and low pressure gravity fed hot in to a mixer shower and they will be imbalanced. Is he right or will one of these pumps solve my problems? My mains is around 2.5-2bar and I suspect going from the height of the tank above the shower I'll be getting less than 0.1 bar from the hot (without this pump).
@alandwright26 ай бұрын
If you have mains pressure cold then you are better to double boost the the hot with a SP21S. showerpowerbooster.co.uk/product/sp21s-pair-shower-power-boosters-double-boost/ Each pump is a half bar pump so two half bar pumps in series gives you 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 bar. Most shower mixers will work with a hot vs cold imbalance of up to 5 to 1 so the mixer will be balanced enough to work perfectly. A SP21S IS PERFECT FOR YOU.

the water pressure where I live is about 60psi directly from the city main water supply . I have lower pressure in one of our bathroom showers....will it boost our bathroom shower pressure more...... even though our existing main city water supply is at about 60psi already
@alandwright22 жыл бұрын
If you have 60 psi this is over 4 bars pressure. This is much higher than normally provided in the UK where the mains pressure is typically below 2 bars and could be as little of 1 bar. A double boost SP21S will add 1 bar but with 4 bars to start with a 25% increase in pressure will only add 12.5% extra flow. However, I strongly suspect that mains pressure is not your problem and its a capacity problem. My pumps only help if it is a pressure problem so adding pressure is unlikely to help.

Can you use this to increase the cold water mains pressure to an electric 9.5kw shower - Other Plumbers say you should never fit a pump to anything mains fed?
@alandwright23 жыл бұрын
It is legal and safe to boost up to 12 litres a minute and the design of the SPB limits the flow to about 8 litres a minute. You can boost the pressure to an electric shower but if your shower already has 1 bar of pressure then giving it more pressure will not help as a 9.5 KW electric shower will only heat 4.5 litres a minute to 42 degrees centigrade and it will close down the flow (use this link to read more showerpowerbooster.co.uk/electric-showers/showerpowerbooster.co.uk/electric-showers/

Alan - help! I'm on a narrowboat. I have a cold water tank with a DC pump to provide water pressure. I have an expansion tank branched off the hot water output set at 3.6 bar. Can I insert the booster on the tap side of my hot water tank to boost shower pressure? If I insert it into the shower mixer's hot feed pipe then I assume it will still boost all hot water taps on the system or only the shower i.e. what's beyond the pump? Very much obliged, Steve
@alandwright23 жыл бұрын
You are correct. In summary a ShowerPowerBooster fitted to any pipe will add pressure to the water flowing in that pipe so if that pipe boosts just one shower then it boosts the pressure to just that shower. If that pipe supplies lots of taps and showers then it adds pressure to all those taps and showers but is only really effective if you use one shower or tap at a time. The amount of boost you get depends on if you single boost with a SP2B or double boost with a SP21S and the rule of thumb is that whatever your pressure was to start with, if you increase the pressure by 100% you increase the flow by 50%. If you contact me through the web site and explain your problem then I can advise further.
@34136TS3 жыл бұрын
@@alandwright2 Good morning to you Alan! Help... again! On the narrowboat I've tried the pump on the hot water feed to the bath shower/mixer... but as the water system is all pressurised by a Jabsco water pump and a hot water accumulator the little pump can't drag extra water through the main pump to feed it, so once the "credit" in the accumulator has been used the flow reverts to that of the main feed pump only. But, I got to wondering... if I fitted your pump between the fresh water tank (ambient pressure) and the main pump I just wonder if it would boost the overall rate that way?
@alandwright23 жыл бұрын
@@34136TS The Jasco water pump is a 'diaphragm pump' and my SPB is a centrifugal pump single impeller pump. It will not boost the flow through diaphragm pump. It will increase the pressure but the Jasco pump is not keeping up with the flow rate of the shower so the SPB is being starved of water. A second Jasco pump side by side with the pump you already have might do it? I am sorry that I did not ask the type of pump you had when I replied previously. If you bought the SPB through showerpowerbooster.co.uk/ there is a 30 day money back guarantee (if you find it does not work in the application you wanted).
