Thank you for sharing! Are there any outdoor gear stores near the embarkation port? I am planning to just purchase a pair of hiking poles upon arrival to Ushuaia.

Yeah there are a bunch of outdoor stores in Ushuaia, but check with your boat as they may provide for free. Quark had them available for anyone that wanted upon landing

Hi, thanks for the amazing information! Could you or some body tell me please if it is necessary to bring 2 pairs of waterproof pants? Also, a tripod to take pictures with my mobile? I'm going next month to spend Christmas in Antarctica! Thanks!

if you have one good pair of waterproof pants you will be fine. As they typically won't saturate with water and a wipe down would have them ready for next outing later on in the day. You aren't allowed to sit or even crouch down typical, and tripods "can" be used, but would require proper cleaning in decantamination liquid upon return to boat. Honestly there are lots of people on shore with you at any given time and it would be easiest to ask someone to take some pics of you.

Excellent video! I am in the very early stages of planning my Antarctic trip. What month were you there? I have read that the most stunning sunsets are in November and March.

Yeah we went on the march 5th sailing. November is best for purely penguins and that white look, but if you want whales and other wildlife in addition to the penguins, march and tail end season is best.
