My beautiful 4 year old daughter loves sardines. We live in the US and most people (family and otherwise) think I'm "punishing" her. She askes me for fish. I did expose her to fish when she was very young. As well as fresh fruit and veggies.

When I was growing up, old timers would always tell me to have a tin of sardines ! Its got to be the ones with the skins and bones. They somehow knew it was good and healthy for you, even though back then there were no medical studies. They also swore by a shot of cognac everyday. And old time doctors said the same thing. I’ll take my chances with the old timers.

FATS: Please realize that olive oil is often, for profit, mixed with other oils. We desperately need to have a process, a way, an understanding how to test. *Standard third part testing should be mandatory for all oils in the U.S..* I pay lots of money for organic food, mainly produce, but I have no control over this issue with oils which I use everyday. I pay lots for supplements as well and listen to podcasts like Dr. Hyman's but this issue about oils need to be fixed. Who will lead this effort?? Thankyou.

A good way to test if the olive oil is pure is to take a tablespoon, and if it burns your throat, it's good!

I agree with you one hundred percent. America has dropped the ball when it comes to FDA. We have to buy everything at our own risk and that’s not fair to us the consumers or our children. We are citizens of these United States and FDA are treating us citizens like they just don’t give a care. Everyone knows anything goes in America, and it’s a shame because we are paying FDA salary. FDA are supposed to be the watch dogs for us that is why we pay taxes and our money is not giving us the benefit of having good leadership or good products to buy. We should march on Washington.

This doctor and Doctor Ted Bruer know more about Health through proper nutritional foods and supplements than 90 people cent of our Primary Care Doctors. The fact is that the majority of doctors in America are illiterate when it comes to Nutrition and exercise! If you don’t believe me when is the last time your doctor talked about how to eat your way out of bad health? I know, never because The Pharmaceutical Industry controls how they practice medicine in other words doctors are not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

It is likely the same as with lentils and kidney shaped beans: soak them in dilute apple cider vinegar for a day or a bit more. Rinse/dry/then grind. I didn't know chia seeds were yet another source of lectins so that's good to know.

Calcium is a mineral and plants don't make minerals. Unless you test a particular plant seeds etc for mineral content, you can't say how much calcium or any other mineral is in it. So to make a statement like Chia seeds have more calcium than milk can be totally wrong because it depends on how much calcium is in the soil that plant is grown on. I see health guru's making these blanket statements all the time on levels of mineral's in each kind of plant food etc ,and that can be totally misleading.

Isn’t ALA a potent chelator of Mercury? Wouldn’t it be best to make sure one does not have any Mercury toxicity before one takes a random daily dosage of ALA? From my understanding ALA binds to Mercury and have a half-life of only a couple of hours, then there needs to be a new dosage of ALA coming in to pick up what the other dropped. If not Mercury can be redistributed in the body and that might do more damage. Oh, and if you still have amalgams in your mouth while taking ALA then you’re really not off to a good path of health. Correct me if I’m wrong

I am hypersensitive to coconut oil increasing LDL. Since MCT oil is derived from coconut oil, would it have the same effect?
@stimpy12265 ай бұрын
I don’t think you have to worry about your LDL readings rather the sub LDL readings are the important ones. Medium chain triglycerides contained in coconut oil more healthy and not harmful to the body unless you really overdo it. I’ve been consuming a quarter of a cup per day for 11 years nowand only the “Trained Seal” doctors will never understand. You need to find a savvy cardiologist that understands the importance of short, medium and long chain triglycerides rather than lumping them all together.
