I stay at Kotturpuram and I saw the massive beast heading to the airport right above me while i was walking on my house terrace around 5pm on that day. Took a video of the flight with my mobile phone. I was really stunned by its size.

@@aerowanderer Yea it came on 30th march here. Funny thing is i went planespotting that day only!! But I went later cause I couldnt go. if it had come 1-2 hrs late i would have def spotted it. The day before also I missed seeing it because I thought It was VISTARA and i saw VDA and like WAIT A MIN THATS NOT VISTARA

I saw Antonov AN-124 is registered as RI6004 / VDA6004 flight from JHB landed to Chennai @ 29 March 6:15 PM local time. Is this the same flight in this video departing?? I'm lucky to see this on the runway it's a very huge aircraft..beautiful.

Hello Mouli. It’s the same aircraft in the video. The aircraft bears the registration RA82079. But this was taken around 20th March. The video of the arrival of the flight you are taking is available in the shorts section in my channel. Of course. Such a massive and a beautiful aircraft.

I get to see one of Volga-Dnepr's AN-124 registeration #RA-82078 everyday while it's grounded here in Toronto. 🤣 It's no 225 but the 124 is still pretty majestic.

AN-124 Ruslan this one belongs to Russian cargo company Volga Dnepr Father of AN-225 and AN-124 a Russian born man Mr Viktor Tolmachev. He's the chief design engineer of these two aircrafts

Chennai Airport doesn’t support A380 because it requires additional runway width and we also don’t have the necessary parking and boarding facilities.

These planes are so near to the public roads. Anyone could easily harm the plane with a weapon. Isn't that a problem?

It looks near. But there’s quite a distance between the aircraft and the fence. It’s also a highway, and there’s always regular police patrolling in addition to busy vehicular movement. Plus if anyone was to cause harm, they can find a hundred different ways to do so. Another fact is most of the airports in India with a few exceptions are in the city vicinity surrounded by commercial and residential buildings. So we have the pros as well as cons.
