@paranoiarpincess3 жыл бұрын
@@deidralea7932 Hey, that gave me a great idea actually. I am pretty sure you meant to comment on the video itself, and not reply to my comment... but thank you anyway. Especially because from the moment I began typing this I actually had yet another idea develop! I'm in Canada and although we _do_ have Dollar Tree, they're few and far between. That said we do have a store called Dollarama that may carry something similar. Not that it matters. The idea you gave me can use any scrap of material so long as it has small patterns, no patterns, abstract patterns, or those that could be interpreted as abstract if small parts are cut out of it. Omg and I just got yet ANOTHER idea! Anyway, if I find scraps, whether it be in a dollor store or in my own stores at home of bits and bobbs, I will absolutely try at least one of the following ideas: 1. I thought when I read decoupage, basically cutting out parts and glueing them a la quilt type of idea. Then I realized that nearly anything you can do with glue, you can do with a sewing machine. So my first idea was instead of ising it for limited parts, why not sew the strips together and cut larger pueces out of it? Then you can make entire clothing sets. I realized that idea veers way off from the spirit of the suggestion you had made, as I was typing the preamble to explain my idea... and that was when a new idea hit me. 2. When designing doll clothing, you can glue the fabric itself into your sketchbook. You can even do only this and instead of having it be conceptual drawings for the clothes you want to make, have it be the art piece itself. Aaaaaaaand I just got another semi-related idea so I'm going to call this one 2. a) You could make fabric "paper" dolls! Basically just draw your doll and cut her out of a thick card of some kind. I feel like foam core, or illustration board would be absolutely AMAZING for this! You then would draw out just the rough sketch of your idea for clothes on a much more malleable type of paper. Heck, you could even just use something like parchment paper or even a silicone mat and try to remove it later! Anyway, instead of lining and colouring the clothing in, you cut up the fabric into the parts you want in whatever spots on the garment. Then glue them to the flimsier paper. Make sure to give it the super saturated decoupage treatment as to ward against fraying and tearing! It would make some super adorable paper dolls! Heck, I feel that if you were to do this well enough, it may even be something you could sell on Etsy! They sell paper dolls in stores, kids LOVE them (and so do many adults) and these particular ones would definitely las a LOT longer than regular paper dolls! I really love this particular idea and I think it's the one I'm most likely going to try, if it weren't for the next idea... 3. You could make stickers!! Draw a shape you want your sticker to be, then you mod podge(or even just glue) the fabric to the shape. *AFTER IT'S DRY* get a permenant marker, paint marker, or ink pen of some kind, and go over whatever lines you want to stand out (we don't want the marker to bleed.) Then cut the shape out right along the lines, or in whatever shape you want around it. To make it a sticker basically all you do is get some double sided tape. You take one side off the tape and stick it to the bottom of the decal. You then either take scissors or an x-acto blade to the side of the double sided tape and remove any and all excess tape. LEAVE THE BACKING ON untile you're ready to use the sticker! If you have glue tape but no doublesided tape, you can just cover the back of your "sticker" in gluetape, stick it down on a section of parchment paper and cut it to the shpe and size of the sticker! Hope this inspired you even more than it had me!
