Sri Lanka has the biggest herd of captive elephants in the World, and they are in Pinnawala. Biggest wild Asian elephant gathering also happens in Sri Lanka.

Fun fact: Sri Lankan Elephants are the largest Asian Elephants. ( Nobody probably cares. Just making a comment mostly to support the video.)

Superb Amazing Beautiful...What an incredible experience..Just wanted to know if we can reach Colombo to Kandy by train and from there we can go to this place and come back to Kandy..How much time it took from Kandy to Kandy
@trishaandnikhil6 ай бұрын
Thank you soo much !! Reach from Colombo to Kandy via train.. and then go to this place the next morning ( start around 7 Am ).... We took 2 buses to go there , navigating was quite easy and then you will want to spend 2-3 hours over then and then get back to Kandy with the same local busses. On the same day , we went to the pinnawala elephant orphanage in the morning and then around 2pm in the afternoon we took a cab to Nuwara Eliya, and reached there in the evening around 7pm.

How did you reach this orphanage? Is it possible to book a private tuk tuk or cab to reach this place?
@trishaandnikhil9 ай бұрын
Hey! We took a series of local busses to keep the cost at the bare minimum. However, yes you can book full day cabs or tuktuks to visit. We suggest you to talk to your hotel managers as they are really well connected and will provide a trusted person to you.

Nice ❤❤ do we get a guide or someone who can click pics n videos while bathing the elephant 🐘 for solo traveler
@trishaandnikhil10 ай бұрын
Hey!! There are actually many people there, specially the elephant handlers who would love to help you for a small tip. In our case, Nikhil was doing all the shooting so we didn't really require this service, but yes, it shouldn't be an issue for you. Happy Travels!

Hi, I have to apply for Sri Lanka Visa, I have only single name in my passport. Will I get the visa with my single name. If yes, then what should I write in surname section. Kindly suggest.

Hello, We're really sorry but we are not well versed in this segment, I would recommend you to directly email the local consulate or embassy of Sri Lanka in your country.

5:06 It is called an Elephant Orphanage. We skipped the jungle safari and other zoo experiences in Sri Lanka for ethical concerns. We had a good experience, when we were there, there was no elephant riding or anything like that, just bathing them or feeding them. They talk about how majority of the elephants over here have been rescued. It seemed like an ethical place.
