I guss you guys should try a camping experience in sri lanka there are so many camping sites near badulla ❤ i have never seen any tourist camping in sri lanka. just try, it will be an amazing experience .firstly i like to suggest mini world's end madulsima in badulla

If you are getting on from Colombo, no need to pre-purchase the tickets. Just get to the station 30 mins early before the departure time and ask which platform train arrives. When the train comes, run and grab a seat. If the train has already arrived, tough luck. People likely already grabbed the seats will stay there till Kandy.

@@DaveMani I would even ask where the unreserved 2nd class or 3class compartment stops in the platform and wait right there. Railway workers at the platform knows it. So you would be first to get on the train

Be sure to visit the 'Nildiya pokuna'. It is an underground pond. It is said that it was made during the time of the king named Ravana in our country, you know that he made the evil character in the Ramayana. Indeed, he is not evil as they say. These trains will never run on time.The reason is from Rambukkana to Badulla there is only one track there.Any oncoming train has to stop and wait for the train from other direction to arrive and pass the token to station manager.And during British rule prior to 1948,Pattipola was the highest altitude reached by a broad gauge railway in the world.
