It's a great kayak for the quick get aways. I plan to buy an electric pump so you can inflate and deflate in 5 minutes. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I enjoyed your review. My question, how effective are the scupper holes? Do they keep the inside of the kayak from retaining standing water? Thanks in advance.
@chiroangler2 жыл бұрын
The scuppers work very well. Any water that comes in drains out. I never notice any standing water when I'm out on the water. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the thorough review! Just bought one from Costco and am super excited to receive it later this week! I noticed on your channel profile that you're a fellow Houstonian; do you have any recommendations for good kayaking spots?
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
Are you looking to kayak in fresh water or saltwater areas? There's a nice size lake at Buffalo Run Park near Missouri City, TX. It's a fairly deep lake and I've kayaked there.

@@chiroangler Thanks for the response and recommendation! I guess we're open to both? We're not anglers, we're really just looking for some chill spots to get out on the water!

Hello Chiro! Did you give up your Pelican Getaway over Bote Zeppelin Aero and why? Between the two, which one will you choose? Thanks!
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
I still use both kayaks. It's just that I've been skunked many more times while out on the Getaway 110. I use both kayaks depending on conditions and how far I plan to go out. Overall, the Zeppelin is far lighter and easy to launch and get on the water within minutes and I can carry it with one hand.

Hi, how much work is it to properly pack up and store after a day of paddling? I’m looking for something that can be toweled off, deflated and rolled up. Also, do you still have it, and happy with it? Thanks for the nice video!
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
I keep the kayak partially inflated and it sits in my garage. When I am ready to hit the water, I will inflate to the maximum recommended PSI and load in my truck along with my ice chest which has all my tackle and my rods. When I am done fishing, I will rinse off any saltwater and residue and deflate partially and store it right back in the garage. Total time to load and unload is 10 minutes. This is my go-to kayak now for short trips because I can literally lift the thing with one hand and carry it to the launch and go. It's great for short quick trips 4-6 hours.

how durable and would you feel safe dropping your lure/hooks onto the kayak? im still thinking about this or the tucktak folding kayak....
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
The centerboard has a EVA foam material that gives some protection. However, when I use this kayak, I always use a landing net to give me more control over a fish to unhook and release, etc. I wouldn't boat flip a big bass or trout and have them flailing around in the cockpit and risk a hook puncture. This is my go-to kayak when I want to do a quick trip and just load and go rather than lifting the more heavy traditional kayak.

What did you put under the stool seat and is it attached
@chiroangler2 жыл бұрын
I put a thick yoga mat under the stool and ran a cam strap thru the side handles of the kayak. I find this seat more comfortable and I am able to turn around 180 degrees and fish from the back.

Between this one and your paddle board which one do you like more Overall?
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
The Bote Zeppelin aero kayak takes the win. It's the best of both worlds and much faster, very stable, you can stand up, and it's lightweight.

Just the kayak without the seat or any gear, probably 30-35 lbs. Its super lightweight. I carry it up and down hills no problem and load my gear.
@jny78 Жыл бұрын
Were you ever afraid of puncturing it with a hook?
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
Yes, especially when reeling in fish when they are thrashing around. I always try to use a landing net to have better control over the fish. I'll net the fish, bring them in, unhook and if they thrash around at least they are inside the net, and it won't hit the pontoons.
@jny78 Жыл бұрын
@@chiroangler Costco has this setup for 299. Would you still recommend it after multiple uses? And will you be making a follow up video? Thanks for the quick response and this video. 👍
@chiroangler Жыл бұрын
@@jny78 $299? That's a great deal! I think I paid like $599 for mine and I've gone on several fishing trips with it, mostly saltwater trips. It really all comes down to your style of fishing. For me, this platform really saves my back and shoulders from lifting and transporting. If I know I am going to do a quick trip 4-6 hours and I want off the bank away from other people, this is my go to kayak. I can literally lift it like a suitcase and carry it to the bank and launch right away. If I am going for longer distance trips and I know I will encounter large alligators or something, I am using the traditional kayak. I hope that helps.
