Your comment about what we pursue is a good one. I love Columbia blacktail hunting. I got one giant but I knew there was a bigger one. I had him in my scope this year twice. My daughter was hunting with me about 300 yards away. She text me saying she got one. I stopped my pursuit of my dream deer to help her. It's worth it, to look on others than self. God may give me another day. It is well with my soul.

I am a gold miner. I look forward to every moment I get out in the woods. And I don’t even have to be gold mining. Just being out there helps me find MYSELF. All the voices and stress ceases to exist and I am left with moments of pure bliss.

Years ago when I hunted the New Mexico mountains I used fire and smoke for cover scent. As always there was no ground open flame fires allowed but my small pack cooker was legal. And I would hold green boughs over the flame to make smoke. I know in my mind that this technique allowed me to take quite a few deer and elk with my bow at ridiculously close yardages. Sometimes it didn’t seem to matter at all. I’ve never used a rifle up there but I never hunted in snowy conditions in which getting it done with a rifle might just be the thing to do. Great video! 👍👍

When the sharp rocks rip holes in the bottom it kind of acts like a self-bailing boat. Unfortunately the water level is then equal to the water level outside the boat. Sat in water most of the way out.

I feel silly replying to a comment this old. This channel is a ministry which so happens to use hunting as a medium. If you are a fan of hunting, great, welcome. If you do not wish to hear about the hunter you're watching and what they enjoy about it, skip over those parts or... watch someone else? Maybe even listen to what he has to say, maybe it's interesting in the least.
