When publishing a video like this, keep in mind that engine builders will also be watching. I watched it with a 50 year old engine builder. The piston at the end of the video is not the same as the one machined on the lathe. Most likely the master couldn't make the material he machined and they ended up installing a factory made part.

Ein Kolben muss eine ballige Form haben um bei Betriebstemperatur passgenau zu werden. Eine solche Form kann der Arbeiter mit diesen Maschinen nicht herstellen. Der Kolben wird nicht richtig laufen und nur eine kurze Standzeit haben. Schade, sie strengen sich sehr an.

L'effort est certainement considéré et considérable, cependant il faut penser à rendre plus précise l'étape de la coulée pour éviter tout ce temps consacré à l'ajustage. Ceci dit ,si l'on veut bien sûr continuer à travailler les pistons dans le cadre de ce processus. Sachant bien évidemment qu'il s'agit d'un atelier de réparation et de remise en état des pièces défaillantes

Estos pistones se fabrican de esta manera pues seguramente es para un motor del cual no se consiguen repuestos, pero no están correctamente fabricados. Primero hay que tener en cuenta que son de una aleación de aluminio, y usaban cualquier tipo de este metal. Podrían haber usado para fundir pistones en desuso. Segundo, el pistón no es cilíndrico. Si se mide su diámetro en pistones originales, se podrá comprobar una pequeña ovalacion en el mismo. De cualquier manera, el repuesto va a funcionar y sacar del apuro.

When we see last part of this video ,we can clearly see laser marking on piston. From where it came as there is no laser marking before. It means piston shown on Lathe machine and piston fitted are both different.

What about shrinkage? The model for molding need some oversize to compensate the shrinkage when cooling down as well as some for machining. When using an old piston as model, the new one will be 2 mm smaller in Diameter and length. So funny video but useless process.

Si, no sé cuánto tiempo, pero sacara del apuro al usuario del vehículo. Comento esto pues recuerdo hace mucho tiempo me pasó algo parecido. Siendo un alumno “ destacado” en tornería de un colegio industrial, el jefe de taller me dio un pistón fundido para reconstruirlo según las medidas de uno original. Hice el trabajo y lo olvidé. Al tiempo pregunte si había funcionado el repuesto, y me dijo. Vio el Bedfor nuestro ( vehículo del colegio) era para el, y funcionaba perfectamente. ( no sé cuánto duró)

They need to have this type of manufacturing because there is no other option whether it be funds, government control or whatever...this will continue on. Ясное дело поршень не тот))) НО! сам видел урал, на который в 80-е годы похожей методой делали поршни. ~ 45 000 они пробежали. Я в 2005 их на автотехнологию сменял ибо износились. Дядька ложки алюминиевые собирал из них на старуху поршень лил, как тока не извернешься, когда запчастей нет.

Parabéns pelo maravilhoso trabalho artesanal. Como foi dito em um comentário anterior, esses pistões ficaram lindos para serem doados ou vendidos como presentes ou souvenirs. Num ambiente de trabalho à altas temperaturas certamente terão uma vida util hiper reduzida, pois o processo de fundição normal é muito mais complexo. No video não mostra se foram adicionados outros componentes para melhorar a liga do aluminio, mas se foram só sucatas, sabe-se lá que tipo de material foi fundido. Outra detalhe é saber se esse material não apresenta porosidade. O processo de fundição foi bem artesanal. Nada a ver com o industrializado. Como souvenir nota 10. 🎉🎉

Si yo fuese a ese país pondría una fábrica de bancos (para trabajos en mecánica) y mesas para montaje de piezas porque parece que sólo saben trabajar en el suelo.
