Derek and Jessica, (though we see her far too seldom), have a knack for making me feel a whole lot better too. I can't imagine a guy more opposite to myself as far as politics and background, and yet I know that if we couldn't get along in real life it would be 100 percent my fault. Good will, humour, the importance of family and friends, the responsibility of a father and a husband, and a sense of how a man should relate to the world and his neighbours are the real themes of this show, messing around with busted-ass cars is just the language he talks about the important things with, and a chance to pass on knowledge that with out men like him, we lose every day. Most of youtube is downright toxic garbage, some of it is useful or funny, and a vanishingly small percentage is a reminder and an inspiration for all of us that we could be better, the world could be better, and it aint all that hard. This show is solidly in that group on the side of the angels, and I am grateful for it. And Derek, if this made you squirm, just pretend you didn't see this and move on, just like when you look over a new car, these things can lay quiet... and don't change a thing.

My Dad had a 70 LeSabre. He got a promotion and it was the first car he had that had air conditioning. His unit had a 455 mill and was like a sea foam green exterior with a dark green interior. He traveled a lot with his job and keep her as his travel car until 76 when he bought a new Ford LTD Landua. He said it was one of the best cars he ever had as far as dependability. He drove it home in just over 3 hours from Danville, VA to Johnson City, TN the day I was born!! Got pulled over twice by the North Carolina highway patrol. When he told the 2nd trooper what his hurry was he radioed ahead and more or less gave clearance for his 100 mph travel pattern!! Dad is unfortunately passed away, but I'd say he would love your videos!! I certainly do!! 😎 👍👌

As we, your subscribers, very much enjoy your personal shtick throughout your videos we are aware of the underlying automotive teaching that is going on, and that is a good thing. I wonder, though, if you are aware of the family dynamics lessons you are teaching as you involve Jessica and the boys in the episodes. Your love and respect for them and their love and respect for you in your interactions shines through the silliness, and that is a VERY good thing. Thank you for keeping your channel family friendly. You have a gift for imparting knowledge to students who didn't even know they had come to be schooled.

It's so amazing to see this car. Every angle you show reminds me of how it looked when the lead in the paint still glistened, even in low light. ;) My parents traded ours in for a 1980 LeSabre. The first car my dad ever bought off the lot. The rear deck and dash disintegrated into a fuzzy orange powder by then and the car was garaged its entire existence. Seeing an intact dash is pretty fkn cool, frankly. I always loved the steering wheel of that car. And the ashtray

It's really not just a cliche' - they just don't make 'em like this anymore. The lines, the curves and angles. Cars of this era were as much engineering art as they were transportation machines. Even unrestored, this Buick is more gorgeous than anything made since 1984.

Had a '73 Buick Regal two door hardtop and maintenance wise it was the cheaper of any per year to maintain, gas mileage was 35 mpg and the only problem had was a new radiator that cost $90 to recore. Otherwise it purred on the highway and hugged the gravel road expertly. Seeing a '68 revitalized is a reminder of the less rustiness of the Buick in those days. The '73 is still on the road as well this detailing is going to rock! Vehicle was well looked after.

Spray on truck bed liner for the roof! Once the outer skin starts to dry but not the inner part of the coating, take a thin gauge piece of aluminum coil (Menards) stock and apply a thin coat of vegetable oil (Pam™)and gently roll it over the coating to smooth out the top surface to emulate the vinyl original roof surface. Small section at a time, until you master it. Practice, practice, practice.

You two make a great team. I know its older video, but sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and let it sit a day or three then vacuum out. Takes the smell right out. Also put some plain charcoal in cheese cloth and hang inside cars when storing, sucks the smell and moisture out.

My parents brought a new 1968 Wildcat 4 door sedan, in what looks like the same gold/green color as your LeSabre. It had the exact same black interior and it had a black vinyl roof. Being a sedan, the doors had the full frames around the windows, which were chrome. I was 5 years old at the time, but the stayed in our family for 12 years. They ended up with the 4 door sedan by error, as they ordered a 4 door hardtop but when the car arrived at the dealership, it was a sedan. My parents were OK with the sedan, and actually, it looked very classy. Our Wildcat had lots of options, including a tilt wheel, AC, power windows, Am/Fm (not sure if it was stereo), road wheels, power antenna, rear defogger, and all the fancy courtesy lights. My favorite thing was the "speed alert" buzzer. I remember my dad always saying the engine in the Wildcat was so powerful, the transmission was smooth as silk, and the car had the best ride out of any car he ever owned, and he had lots of cars (mostly Caddy's).

Try a black "wrap" on top to test the two-tone ideas. Consult old Mag Ads, may have a pic of original scheme. I think the mouldings WERE original. To stop door dings.
