Incredible Spiders - National Geographic, Full Documentaries HD
The Goliath birdeater (Theraphosa blondi) is a spider belonging to the tarantula family. Found in northern South America, it is the largest spider in the world. By leg-span, it is second to the giant huntsman spider, but it is the largest by mass. It is also called the Goliath bird-eating spider; the practice of calling theraphosids "bird-eating" derives from an early 18th-century copper engraving by Maria Sibylla Merian that shows one eating a hummingbird. It only rarely preys on adult birds.

101proofsforgod.blogspot.com/2015/09/91-spider-webs.html God made the spider without spiders the world would be COMPLETELY different i think the spider has a place in every ones heart as nobody likes a fly buzzing around their head and as long as mr spider over there eating flys he is welcome up in the corner lol,, most people hate wandering spiders like male funnel webs, male huntsman, and Brazilian wandering , are the spiders that people really fear as they are mobile moving around in the dark of night ,, a simple webbed spiders are great to look at it sucks walking into the spider web when mowing the lawn i find the spider on me 2 hours later still hasn't bit me and i just walked through its home i do not get spiders,, little tiny redback spider will bite harder then BIG HAND SIZE huntsman spider it all depends on what sort of spider , in most cases i have found the spider is scared of humans. it is only when you go into dry areas where life is hard, and the spiders out there really are vicious anything crosses these dessert spiders they try and kill it even a human Boot they know no fear , but you squash them and their buddy spiders notice then they fear you,,, spiders are very interesting creatures and very alert of their surroundings ..a well designed creature

Spiders are the most amazing and beautiful creatures. We need to do everything we can to protect them as they are our protection against disease-ridden insects. Jumping spiders are just incredible little beings and the females, especially, can be friendly. I've often taken photos of them sitting on my hand.

***** You're not watching the documentary for the stupid weird skitter effects of the spider they added to it moving around, you're watching it for the spiders. I mean music is fine, and of course the narrator is on point but god damn it's distracting any time the spider moves and you get that unreal shuffling of legs or munching that doesn't actually exist as the narrator talks over it.

Yes, I actually do! Not so much the little poisonous ones that skitter around and hide in your shoes, but the big hairy ones like the Giant Tarantula that keep a clean den and eat snakes are pretty cool to me. Although they have some pretty gnarly defense mechanisms, I wouldn't mind owning one of those spiders (or its cousin the Bird Eating Spider) one day in the future. Based on the footage that I've seen, even when agitated they appear to be fairly docile. And you can call me Dawson btw. Why do you ask, Stefania? Do YOU like spiders? Do you like National Geographic?

Although dubbed as sun or camel spiders, Solifugae are not true spiders at all. They are classified as "arachnids" (spider-like creatures); but not from "Araneae" class, which includes "true" spiders. Unlike true spiders, Solifugae have no fangs (they have pincer like mandible parts), they can't produce silk and as far as I know, it's still not known if they have any kind of venom (there are several reports about alleged venom glands, though)

The Goliath birdeater (Theraphosidae blondi) belongs to the tarantula family Theraphosidae. Found in northern South America, it is the largest spider in the world by mass and size, but it is second to the giant huntsman spider by leg span. It is also called the Goliath bird-eating spider; the practice of calling theraphosids "bird eating" derives from an early 18th-century copper engraving by Maria Sibylla Merian that shows one eating a hummingbird. Despite the spider's name, it only rarely preys on birds.

One of the very, very few videos I've seen about these creatures - of course I know it's originally a nat geo wild vídeo - but there's barely any videos about this incredible arachnid! You never hear about the sensory cups or the sticky palps and I would love to see a full, in-depth documentary about the solifuge 🙏🏻

@@lixtle- so I see you have over 3 million views on this video alone. It has not been taken down for copyright infringements, but is it monetized? I’m curious if you’re able to make a small passive income from your videos because it would be wonderful to know if I could try to do something similar. I watch a lot of KZbin (I am on disability as I’m losing the ability to walk), but I am not really sure how it works.

Damn these spiders are smarter and have more intellect than stupid people i know. Amazing. I guess brain size doesn't matter as much as we think it should.

+grammar cat Size is the main factor. Brains have folds when there's not enough space in the cranium to fit them. If the human brain was unfolded it would be much larger, so it's still all about the size.

A couple on this list are not true spiders, but they are still interesting. The biggest miss was the Sydney Funnel web. The males wander around looking for females, and often fall into swimming pools. They can't swim, but can survive and bite hours later. They are highly aggressive and can bite through shoes...

Because Australia is it's own little world which wants to not be part of the rest of the world as a whole, thinking themselves as being superior to the rest, so will not be part of any of these 'rest of the world documentaries' I guess. There is documentaries specializing in Australian spiders and the nasty bites that they each cause though. I have seen them.

Ryan Freebody yup. spiders eat more insects than birds and bats combined. if they go extinct humans (and damn near everybody else on this earth) will be screwed because the insects will eat off our crops and vegetation. which will in turn kill herbivors, than omnivores, and eventually carnivores. in a way, spiders fuel life. just like bees

@kv2315

well almost all of this footage is staged. i could tell you way more about spiders than this video. i have quite a wide range of tarantulas from all over the world at home that are way prettier than those you saw here. North america, mexico, south america, africa, asia and the far east. most of them are endangered in their natural habitat and noone bats an eye because most ppl are afraid of them and think they are disgusting. a shame really.

I also used to wonder this - especially once I started trying to photograph insects. Apparently, from what I’ve read, many of the extended close up shots of very small insects/spiders are often done in a set up studio where lighting and cameras can be strategically set up and the “situation” somewhat controlled.
