I have to say that until HM the Queen's funeral, I had no idea bassoon's were marching band instruments. My sister played bassoon and they did not have them march. Do the musician's own their instruments or are the issued them?

Many own their own civilian instruments however those used during marching band are issued to them for the duration of their posting to a specific band.
