Thanks so much for sharing this! I was so depressed this evening as I live in a retirement village and they don't allow trick or treaters.... I LOVE Halloween, always have and love seeing the children in their costumes. This video definitely cheered me up to see all the children getting a chance to go house to house instead of trick or trunk. So glad you got this going Amanda! Kids today I believe have missed out on a lot of things and I think it's great that you opened your community to allow kids to experience Halloween the way we did! Maybe next year you could have bobbing for apples, pumpkin carving, toasting marshmallows and prizes for the funniest, prettiest, scariest, costumes. A Monster Mash contest is always fun! It would be cool to have scary music over a loud speaker playing. I have all kinds of ideas. I actually designed a haunted house many years ago for the Jaycees and people said it was one of the best they'd ever gone through. Anyway, thanks again for doing this and sharing the video!! You guys are the best!

Yes, maybe a haunted house with grapes for eyeballs and spaghetti for brains. Also, a cake walk, Halloween bean bag toss, and other games in a game section. They should have a video on ideas for a Christmas celebration.

That’s what I said too,and maybe talk to a vendor to post inside to provide food, I’d like them to make a haunted tiny house all decked out outside and scare people etc

I'm over here in Memphis, hiding out with the porch light off and eating candy in the dark, but I feel like I've been to a Halloween party just watching y'alls video. Happy Halloween!! Now it's time to start planning a Christmas Parade thru Tiny Towne! I've already spotted couple different guys there, with white beards who could be Santa. I'm sure there will be plenty of willing Elves around to help him out. Maybe have a "Get a Picture with Santa at Tiny Towne" booth.

Wow! Your Halloween celebration was a success. We did not have one child come to our house! We live on a busy street, but most residents are older, so no children in the neighborhood. We have live here for about 10 years and every Halloween has been like this. We lived in a very small town about 15 miles away before moving here and we always had Trick or Treaters. An organization had a hayrack they would take the children around town and stop so the children would get off and go to the houses along the street. I miss not having Trick or Treaters! I did buy 2 small bags of candy at the Dollar Tree. Anticipating having no one come, I got what my husband and i would eat-Tootsie Roll Pops. I'm glad so many came to take part in your first Halloween celebration!

Congrats on your first annual Halloween fest. It was so wonderful to see. Since this was the first and was so successful, I think the police will expect you to make more adequate preparations for parking next year, now that you know what to expect. I was thinking maybe you could park the cars away from the action and hire 2 or 3 transports (buses, large cans, etc.) to run continually to transport people from their cars up to the action and throughout the "subdivisions" until you close it down for the night. Also, offering rows of hay bales in different areas to let people rest would be helpful, especially with background music. Just a few ideas to consider, which I'm sure you've already thought of. Again, congratulations on the magnificent turnout.

I'm just watching this video and have tears of joy for you guys. What a great turnout. If I can make a suggestion for next year, maybe have like a hay ride and stop at the different communities that people can jump on and off, so they don't have to walk as far, carring their kids and for those unable to walk far. Great job to all!❤

Congratulations Tiny Town, USA! What a fantastic turn-out! First halloween event and what a success guys! I don't think I have smiled this much watching something on a screen before. :) and it may or may not have brought a tear to my eye. All the happy and touching emotions at one time welled-up in me. Randy and Amanda and all the employees at ITH and residents y'all are amazing! That was a lot of happy children! This was so much fun watching! 🥰 SOME IDEAS FOR NEXT YEAR. Have residents from each "subdivision" and ITH employees who want to participate, help with the planning and executing of the event. Start early in the day and end it when you want. Have a couple or more hayride wagons in The Prairie, a couple zipline attractions in The Forest, a hay bale maze at the pond, a doggie costume contest in the dogpark for all the furbabies, a bobbing for apples contest in The Grove, a haunted sand castle in The Beach, have some beverage vendors serving coffee, hot chocolate, hot/cold tea, sodas, frozen fruit drinks, etc. Have some vendors selling popcorn, fresh baked pretzels, fried donuts, candy/caramel apples, etc. Have different age bracket costume contests, have a bounce house in all four "subdivisions" and several photo op locations set up, have some portapotty stations set up at or near each "subdivision" location, have benches placed throughout the community for people to rest if needed, have a haunted "train" (maybe a bunch of golfcarts hooked together and made to look like a haunted train) ride through the community trail, (The Milligan Mile), with people dressed-up and jumping out of the dark and some chainsaws and screaming sounds coming out of the woods as the "train" passes by. Lol! Maybe y'all will like some of these ideas. This was a fun video. Laughter does the soul good so thank y'all for that. Have a beautiful blessed day! Love Melissa in the mountains of Virginia. 🙏 ❤

I have an idea for next year. If the homeowners dont have a porch light but thy want to give out candy yall can get Halloween posters they can tape to their front door that indicates they are giving out candy, or they can buy bright solar lights that people can see from a distance. Another halloween idea. Hand out a layout of tiny home areas and names of them. It will show them where they might want to walk to. Yall know the layouts by heart. But the parents might walk to more if they know how. If you build it they will come. So proud of what yall have created.
